Introducing The New Blancpain Ladybird Colors Phases de Lune

Blancpain introduces a new addition to its women's collection, the "Ladybird Phases de Lune," arriving just in time for the summer season. The new coral blue colorway enhances the monochromatic watch collection featuring the brand's signature design, while the version with multicolored numerals debuts with a moon phase complication.

Since 1930, Blancpain has made its mark in the history of women's watches, introducing the first women's wristwatch with an automatic movement, the "Rolls" edition. In 1956, the brand unveiled the Ladybird model, which featured the smallest circular movement of its time. Believing that women appreciate the artistry and complexity of mechanical watches, the Maison has continued to innovate by creating movements specifically for women, including complications traditionally reserved for men's watches.

Evoking a clear summer sky, the new coral blue color adds a fresh and dynamic touch to the season. Meanwhile, the bold version with multicolored numerals showcases Blancpain's signature feminine moon phase on its dial.

The blue version comes with a red gold case, while the colored version is set in an 18-karat white gold case. Encased in a 34.90 mm 18-carat white gold case set with 59 diamonds, the dial is further adorned with 70 brilliant-cut diamonds, hand-set in two concentric circles, adding an extra layer of sparkle and allure. The gems embellishing the crown and buckle bring the total carat weight to over 2 carats, creating a well-balanced timepiece with a warm, inviting face that draws the eye to its delicate features.

The dials of these models display expert craftsmanship through the playful use of proportions and textures. The Roman numerals vary in size, with those at the top being more prominent and gradually becoming more subtle toward the bottom, creating an aesthetically pleasing transition. Each numeral undergoes a five-phase coloring process to achieve its rich, vibrant hues.

To complement the subtle asymmetry of the design, the feminine moon phase is positioned at 6 o’clock, appearing to float on a textured mother-of-pearl background. This material offers unique luminosity, depth, and contrast, enhancing the dial's visual appeal.

Powering these watches is the automatic Caliber 1163L, which boasts a 100-hour power reserve. Decorated with traditional fine watchmaking techniques such as beveling, circular graining, and snailing, this caliber is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. It also features a silicon balance spring, ensuring resistance to magnetism.

The new Ladybird Colors timepieces feature leather straps that enhance their vibrant design. A bright blue strap matches the numerals on one version, while another model with multicolored numerals comes with five interchangeable straps in pink, blue, green, yellow, and white. These straps are equipped with a pin buckle or folding clasp for easy, tool-free changes.

The white gold version with a colors dial is priced at 157,100 AED, while the red gold version with blue numerals is priced at 133,400 AED.
