Introducing The New Atelier Wen Millésime 2025 Perception Xuán

A limited edition with a stunning Pietersite stone dial

Atelier Wen has been quietly building one of the most coherent Chinese design languages in the independent watch scene, rooted in Chinese cultural references yet executed with contemporary restraint. The Perception collection sits at the centre of that vision, an integrated-bracelet sports watch defined by slim proportions, sharp architecture, and an unusually high level of finishing. With the Millésime series, the brand gives itself room to experiment once a year, using small-batch releases to explore new materials without disrupting the core collection.

Although named Millésime 2025 Perception Xuán, this new edition arrives slightly later than planned, the result of production challenges tied to its most defining feature. Following the 2024 titanium Perception with a purple guilloché dial, Atelier Wen returns to stainless steel and shifts the focus from texture to material, introducing a natural pietersite stone dial for the first time in the series.

The case is crafted from 904L stainless steel and measures 40 mm in diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and just 9.4 mm thick, including the double-domed sapphire crystal. Angled facets, polished bevels, and the distinctive protruding “ears” give the watch its recognisable profile, while water resistance is rated to 100 metres. Around back, a semi-display sapphire caseback offers a partial view of the movement, framed by a raised stone lion motif that has become a signature of the brand.

The dial is where this Millésime edition truly separates itself. Pietersite replaces the guilloché that has long defined the Perception, introducing swirling patterns of deep blue, black, gold, and brown that vary from piece to piece. Working with stone brings its own challenges, particularly given pietersite’s brittleness. The apertures for the hour markers are wire-cut by hand in Zhejiang province, then polished on the coast of Guangdong, reinforcing Atelier Wen’s continued emphasis on Chinese craft techniques. The stone surface is framed by a black PVD-coated chapter ring, printed with the brand’s huiwen motif in Super-LumiNova.

Powering the watch is a customised Dandong Peacock SL1588A automatic movement. At just 3.4 mm thick, it allows the watch to retain its notably slim case profile. The movement runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), offers a power reserve of 41 hours, and is regulated to within ±10 seconds per day. Visible through the caseback, it features circular côtes de Genèveheat-blued screws, and a tungsten rotor finished in black rhodium.

The watch comes on an integrated 904L steel bracelet with chamfered links and a taper from 22 mm to 18 mm at the clasp. It is offered through a time-limited order window running from January 28 to February 6, 2026.

The first 225 individually numbered pieces, marked by a black lacquer-filled Millésime engraving, are scheduled for delivery in Q2 2026, with subsequent orders delivered in Q4. Pricing is set at USD 3,600, approximately AED 13,300.
