Two chronograph releases with a stunning mocha-brown aesthetic
Angelus is a name rooted in Swiss watchmaking history, dating back to 1891, though its most significant creations began with the release of its first in-house monopusher chronographs in 1925. The brand became known for innovative complications before facing a period of inactivity during the quartz crisis. In 2015, Angelus was revived along with several of its historic releases, re-emerging with new high-tech creations. One of the collections that returned is the Chronodate, a line that reconnects with the brand’s past while embracing contemporary design codes, as seen with the Storm Blue, Velvet Black, and Magnetic Silver editions.

Now, Angelus introduces a pair of Chronodate Moka editions, presented in red gold and titanium. Both models bring a warm mocha-brown aesthetic to the collection.

The watch is housed in a 42.50 mm case with a thickness of 14.25 mm. It features a hybrid construction built around a carbon-composite chamber that contains the movement. Surrounding it is an openworked cradle crafted in either red gold or grade 5 titanium, depending on the version. The same composite material is used for the bezel ring and chronograph pushers. The caseback is fitted with a box sapphire crystal, and water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

The dial carries a rich mocha-brown tone with an amber shimmer and a sunray-brushed finish. Its layout features two oversized metallic-black counters decorated with a snailed pattern. It also displays gold Arabic numerals, while the hands are filled with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. A pointer date encircles the dial, its red arrowhead matching the red accents on the chronograph hands and pusher markings.

Powering the watch is the Angelus A-500 calibre, an automatic chronograph movement operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). It features a column wheel, a horizontal clutch, and a power reserve of 60 hours. The rotor differs between models, with a red-gold segment for the gold version and a tungsten segment for the titanium edition.

Both editions are equipped with an interchangeable strap system and are delivered with multiple options. The titanium model includes a titanium bracelet, a mocha-brown alligator strap, and a black rubber strap. The red gold edition is supplied with an alligator strap and a rubber strap. The folding clasps match the case material.
The red gold edition is limited to 5 pieces and priced at CHF 43,100, approximately AED 197,000, while the titanium edition is limited to 25 pieces and priced at CHF 25,100, approximately AED 115,000.
