Introducing The MB&F LM Perpetual EVO Blue

MB&F reintroduces its perpetual calendar with a light blue dial

Maximilian Büsser established MB&F in 2005, which stands for Maximilian Büsser & Friends. The brand operates as an artistic concept laboratory, founded on a straightforward premise: to bring together groups of independent watchmaking experts to innovate and create groundbreaking timepieces. By fostering teams of talented individuals, tapping into their passion and creativity, and recognizing the importance of each person's contribution, MB&F harnesses their collective synergy to achieve results far beyond what any individual could accomplish alone.

We have witnessed an array of releases from MB&F that truly embody the word unconventional. These include the HM8 Mark 2, which stands out as the most technologically advanced timepiece in MB&F's automotive-inspired Series, and the HM9 Sapphire Vision, offering enthusiasts a visual experience reminiscent of an exploratory vessel from Atlantis. Furthermore, there's the Horological Machine 11 Architect, which astonished Dubai Watch Week with its innovative design, taking the concept of unconventional to new heights in the skyline. For its first release in 2024, the brand introduces the LM Perpetual EVO BLUE, in a titanium case with a beautiful light blue dial.

 LM Perpetual EVO Green

The brand has consistently pushed the boundaries of traditional watchmaking with its avant-garde designs and innovative timekeeping creations. In 2015 MB&F introduced The LM Perpetual, a watch that represents an innovative interpretation of a perpetual calendar complication. Designed by Northern Irish master watchmaker Stephen McDonnell. In 2020, the collection evolved to include the EVO case with the introduction of the LM Perpetual EVO that was launched in three limited editions in zirconium, followed by a titanium edition with green CVD dial, for more information you can visit this article.

Fast forward to 2024, MB&F unveils a fresh light blue dial within the same highly durable titanium case, replacing its former green iteration. The brushed and polished case measures 44mm in diameter and 17.5mm in thickness, crafted from grade 5 titanium, boasting material properties that exceed those of stainless steel, the case showcases a no-bezel construction, where the domed sapphire crystal is seamlessly fused directly to the case, with a double sprung oblong pushers to adjust perpetual calendar functions.

As previously mentioned, the dial features a light blue CVD coating, which is a material applied to a surface by a method called chemical vapor deposition. At the center of the dial, you'll find the V-shaped bridge arching above the 14mm balance wheel, which is a signature element of the LM Series. The hours and minutes are indicated at 12 o’clock on a black galvanic disc, with luminescent-tipped hands and light blue indices. Positioned at 3 o’clock are the days of the week, while the power reserve indicator is located at 5 o'clock. At 7 o'clock, you'll find the retrograde leap year indicator, with the months displayed at 6 o’clock and the date indicated at 9 o’clock.

The timepiece features a fully integrated perpetual calendar with manual winding with double mainspring barrels, a creation developed for MB&F by Stephen Mc Donnell, incorporating a mechanical processor and dial-side complication. It boasts a power reserve of 72 hours, operates at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz), comprises 581 components, and includes 41 jewels. The new LM Perpetual EVO BLUE comes with a white rubber strap equipped with a titanium folding buckle, priced at CHF 181,000 which is equivalent to AED 760,000.
