Introducing The Limited Grand Seiko Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006

The Evolution 9 Collection was launched in 2020 to celebrate Grand Seiko's 60th anniversary, introducing redefined design codes with sharper lines, improved ergonomics, and a stronger presence on the wrist. In 2023, the brand unveiled the Tentagraph, a milestone as Grand Seiko’s first-ever mechanical chronograph, which later expanded to include models like the Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009. This year, the story continues with the debut of the Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006.

The watch features a high-intensity titanium case measuring 43.2mm in diameter, 15.3mm in thickness, and 51.5mm from lug to lug. Its finishing alternates between brushed surfaces and Zaratsu-polished accents, framed by a box-shaped sapphire crystal. A screw-down crown and sapphire caseback ensure durability while maintaining 100 meters of water resistance. Subtle yet refined 18k rose gold details appear on the crown, pushers, and bezel frame, complemented by a ceramic insert with a tachymeter scale.

The dial presents a new interpretation of the Mt. Iwate texture, rendered in a striking copper-pink tone reminiscent of the mountain at sunrise. The chronograph sub-dials bring contrast with burgundy and darker copper hues, while the applied indexes and hands, plated in rose gold and filled with luminescent material, ensure legibility. A date window sits at 4:30.

Inside, the watch houses the Calibre 9SC5, an automatic high-beat chronograph derived from the 9SA5 architecture. Beating at 36,000 vph (5 Hz), it incorporates a column wheel, vertical clutch, and a double-barrel system that delivers a 72-hour power reserve even with the chronograph engaged. Accuracy is regulated to a mean daily rate of +5 to -3 seconds.

Completing the watch is a high-intensity titanium bracelet secured by a three-fold clasp with push-button release, decorated with an 18k rose gold Grand Seiko medallion. Limited to 300 pieces, the Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006 is priced at EUR 23,000, approximately AED 98,900.
