Introducing The Latest Release from Armin Strom, Tribute² Copper Edition

Armin Strom launched a new timepiece, the Tribute² Copper Edition, which is a limited edition that builds on the success of the Tribute 1 launched in 2021. It merges traditional watchmaking with contemporary design, highlighting the core values of the brand: transparent mechanics that artfully display the inner mechanisms, three-dimensional design that provides visual depth through various levels, and the intricate details of the movement with meticulous hand decoration.

The 38 mm stainless steel case, measuring 9 mm in height. The crown is positioned at 2 o’clock, while the sapphire crystal protects the watch on both sides. The size of the watch is smaller than previous Armin Strom watches, but it retains the design elements such as the polished bezel and the unique lugs. Additionally, the case offers water resistance up to 50 meters.

The logo on the back, “Horomariobro x Armin Strom,” acknowledges the contributions of Horomariobro, a close friend of the brand who also inspired the Pure Resonance Ultimate Sapphire x Horomariobro LE10.

The dial of this new timepiece is open-worked. The base plate features a copper-colored PVD-coated mainplate with a grattage finish. This process was originally developed by mechanical engineers to create perfectly flat surfaces. Instead of being engraved, hammered, or polished, the material is meticulously scraped by hand. The movement bridges, similarly inspired by pocketknife clips, have been milled and hand-finished with contrasting brushed surfaces.

Positioned at 10 o'clock, the off-centered dial is a grey fumé. The dial is encircled by a hand-polished steel ring, which is hand-beveled and further emphasizes the refined character of the design. Completing the dial are rose gold-coated hands and indices.

Occupying the right-hand portion of the open display are three bridges made of steel and black-polished by hand for the first time, supporting the barrel at 5 o'clock.

The AMW21 hand-wound movement, developed and manufactured in-house by Armin Strom, boasts an impressive 100-hour power reserve. Its exceptional performance is due to the innovative motor barrel design, a technique the company developed and explained in detail in a previous article. The movement operates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour. It also features a balance wheel with variable inertia and a flat overcoil spring.

Limited to just 10 pieces, the watch comes paired with a grey Alcantara calf leather strap and a stainless steel double-folding deployant clasp. It is priced at CHF 25,000, which is equivalent to AED 103,500.
