Paying tribute to Snoopy with a touch of vintage elegance
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the syndicated comic strip Peanuts, Seiko unveils a special collaboration that unites King Seiko with the beloved character Snoopy. The result is the King Seiko Vanac Peanuts 75th Anniversary SDKV011, a Japan-exclusive limited edition that captures the essence of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and comic artistry.
The new watch retains the distinctive geometry of the 1970s original, which was revived earlier this year. Crafted from stainless steel, the case measures 41 mm in diameter and 14.3 mm in thickness. It features a mix of polished and brushed finishes, topped with a sapphire crystal protecting the dial. Thanks to its screw-down crown, the case is water resistant to 100 meters.
On the caseback, Snoopy and Woodstock appear in a full-color illustration accompanied by the comic line “It just fits.” This charming detail references the Peanuts strip published on April 21, 1990, where Snoopy inherits Woodstock’s cardboard crown and throne in playful fashion.
The dial evokes a black-and-white newspaper texture, paying tribute to the origins of Peanuts. At its center, Snoopy appears as his “Joe Cool” persona, crowned and joined by his loyal friend Woodstock. Gold accents highlight the indices, hands, and the framed date window at 3 o’clock.
Inside beats the Calibre 8L45, an automatic movement derived from the Grand Seiko 9S65. Operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it offers a 72-hour power reserve and an accuracy rating of -5/+10 seconds per day. Completing the design is an integrated stainless steel bracelet that echoes the case’s angular architecture. It is fitted with a butterfly clasp for a seamless fit and includes a quick-release mechanism for effortless strap changes once compatible options become available.
Limited to only 150 pieces, the watch will be available exclusively in Japan beginning in November 2025. Its rarity, combined with Snoopy’s enduring charm, ensures it will become a sought-after collector’s piece among enthusiasts and Peanuts fans alike.
Each watch is individually numbered in a comic-style font and delivered in a Peanuts-branded presentation box along with a King Seiko watch roll, making it a true collector’s treasure. The watch is priced at JPY 495,000, approximately AED 12,000.
