Three limited editions honor the legacy of Chinese master painter Xu Beihong
Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils the Reverso Tribute Enamel, a creation that pays homage to Chinese master painter Xu Beihong, one of the foremost figures of modern Chinese art, renowned for his dynamic depictions of horses, and is widely known as the father of modern Chinese painting.
The new models are crafted in white gold cases measuring 45.6 mm in length, 27.4 mm in width, and 9.73 in thickness. On the reverse side, miniature enamel reproductions of Xu Beihong’s celebrated works, The Running Horse, Two Horses, and The Standing Horse, bring his expressive brushstrokes to life on a canvas scarcely larger than two square centimeters. Each piece requires around 80 hours of meticulous enameling. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters.

The front dial of each watch features intricate hand-guilloché patterns covered with layers of translucent Grand Feu enamel, selected to echo the tones of the original artworks. The Running Horse glows in Evergreen Pine Green over a sunray motif. Two Horses is rendered in Distant Mountain Blue on a barley-seed pattern, recalling misty Chinese landscapes. The Standing Horse presents Crimson Dawn Orange over a herringbone design, capturing the warmth of sunrise and the nobility of the animal it portrays. Dauphine hands and faceted indices complete the refined aesthetic.
Powering the watch is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s hand-wound Calibre 822, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) with a power reserve of 42 hours. Each piece is fitted with a classic alligator leather strap, and each of the three versions is strictly limited to 10 pieces, with pricing available upon request.
