For the First Time, the Portofino Watch Comes with a Stainless Steel Bracelet
Since its debut in 1984, the Portofino collection has become one of IWC Schaffhausen's most iconic lines. This year, at Watches and Wonders Shanghai, IWC introduces the Portofino Chronograph 39, marking the first time the model is offered with a stainless steel bracelet. The new release combines the classic, aesthetics of the Portofino design with the functionality of a sporty chronograph.

The company's latest release was the "Mark XX" watch, presented by IWC in a titanium case for the first time. It is a special edition in collaboration with the Patrouille Suisse aerobatic team.

The watch features a compact 39 mm polished stainless steel case, distinguished by sleek straight and curved lugs.

Its polished bezel and sapphire crystal—treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides—offer enhanced clarity and protection, while ensuring water resistance up to 50 meters.

The silver-plated dial, paired with rhodium-plated hands and applied indices, adds a touch of elegance. The signature vertical layout of the subdials is preserved, with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock and a running seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The subdials are adorned with a snailed finish, while a black-printed minutes track encircles the dial.

Visible through the transparent sapphire case back is the IWC-manufactured Calibre 69355. This chronograph movement, featuring a classic column-wheel design, is composed of 205 individual parts. The bi-directional pawl winding system efficiently builds a 46-hour power reserve. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

For the first time, the Portofino Chronograph 39 is equipped with 5-link stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet’s brushed and satin-finished links create a contemporary yet refined look. Additionally, the integrated quick-change system allows for easy strap adjustments. The watch is priced at CHF 7,600, equivalent to AED 32,800.
