Code41 steps out of the ordinary and introduces a watch that elegantly displays the time
CODE41 has always focused on innovation. Since its founding in 2016, its creations have consistently adhered to the wristwatch form factor. However, in 2021, the brand broke the mold, bringing to life an idea dating back to 2009: the first Mecascape. This unorthodox timepiece was unlike anything we had seen before. Furthermore, about a year later, buyers quickly snapped up the initial production run, leaving others waiting. Today, an announcement has been made for 30 more pieces that will be available for delivery in summer 2024.
Faced with the challenges of design, it became a question of introducing a never-before-seen concept in horology. As Claudio d’Amore, the founder of the brand, explains, the Mecascape is certainly not a wristwatch. It is also not a clock or a pocket watch. It's a landscape, a horological work of art with value not only in its innovative design but also in its beauty.

The Code41 Mecascape is a mechanical clock housed within a rectangular, thin case measuring 106mm × 68mm × 8.1mm made of Grade 5 titanium. It features matte surfaces and polished accents, with two crowns located on each side to wind the movement and set the indications. Both crowns are knurled for easy grip and are nestled within the case flanges for protection while maintaining the case's lines. A push button on the left side changes the date if needed. The front features a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, while the rear "case back" has a circular display to show a part of the movement.

The openwork dial of the CODE41 Mecascape, being much larger than a traditional wristwatch, provides a perfect canvas for complications and additional, non-overlapping features. The largest indication is for the minutes, positioned in the upper left corner of the case. The hour dial partially overlaps this, and the date indication is also integrated into the minute dial. The final element on this side of the case, as far as indications go, is the small seconds sub-dial. On the right side of the movement, the power reserve is displayed in a semi-circular scale in the top right corner. Below that is the GMT display with a 24-hour scale and the representation of a world map. It even features Super-LumiNova on its dial and hands for use in low light conditions. Three versions are available: black, silver, and blue, each with different colored accents.

For the movement, CODE41 collaborated with the independent Swiss workshop Cercle des Horlogers. The clock itself is an eight-day hand-winding movement complete with a power reserve display. It runs smoothly.at 28,800vph and contains 237 components and 37 jewels.

There are three color variants available, ranging from sporty to professional looks. As for accessories, you will receive a microfiber-lined leather carry case to protect your Mecascape if it's in a pocket with other objects. Additionally, there is a metal stand included that allows you to use it as a desk clock.

The Code41 Mecascape will sell for USD 15,800 which is equivalent to 58,000 AED for the gray bridges, USD16,000 which is equivalent to 59,000 AED for the black bridges, and USD16,300 which is equivalent to 60,000 AED for blue ones.
