Established in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron in Geneva, Switzerland, the company has steadfastly upheld its reputation for crafting premium timepieces that seamlessly blend technical precision with timeless elegance.

One of the pivotal moments in Vacheron Constantin's journey was introducing the famous "222" luxury sport watch, to celebrate the brand's 222nd anniversary. The "222" represented a radical departure from the brand's traditional dress watches. The Vacheron Constantin 222, with its iconic design elements such as the thin, barrel-shaped case, and the notched round bezel, marked a significant milestone in the brand's history. This timepiece, powered by the automatic movement calibre VC1121 based on the JLC920. The production of the 222 was discontinued in the mid-1980s, but since then, its popularity has skyrocketed, elevating it to the status of a horological icon from the 1970s.

The 222 was available in various iterations, including sizes of 37mm and 34mm with automatic movements based on JLC, as well as a 25mm version with a quartz movement. These models were crafted from different materials, ranging from steel to gold, and combinations of steel and gold.

Building upon the success of the 222, Vacheron Constantin embarked on a new chapter with the introduction of the Overseas collection in 1997. Inspired by its predecessor, the Overseas collection was designed for the modern-day adventurer. Considered one of the brand's most iconic releases, the Overseas collection embodies the spirit of exploration and refinement that defines the Vacheron Constantin ethos.

The Overseas collection unveiled timepieces characterized by tonneau-shaped cases, fluted bezels, and integrated bracelets. Showcasing a barrel shaped case, a disc below the bezel, new in-house movements, and the reintroduction of the VC1120 caliber, a horological classic.

The Overseas collection offers a range of complications, including the perpetual calendar, known for its complexity. The refined Overseas Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar exemplifies the collection's stylistic evolution, measuring just 8.1 mm thick, while its movement is 4.05 mm thick.

The introduction of the new generation Overseas also marked the debut of three new calibers by Vacheron Constantin. The 5200, 5100, and 5300 represent in-house automatic movements featuring an integrated column-wheel chronograph, all bearing the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva.
