A bold step into the modern sports watches category
CIGA Design is no stranger to pushing creative boundaries in watchmaking. The brand first gained acclaim with its GPHG award-winning Blue Planet, which was later followed by the Blue Planet II Black Star, both proving that artistry and horology can coexist, even in the most contemporary formats. This year, the brand introduces the new Z Series Hunter Automatic Skeleton, boldly stepping into the realm of modern sports watches with a design that combines striking aesthetics and mechanical transparency at a highly accessible price.

The watch features a bold, octagonal tonneau-shaped case made from 316L stainless steel, available in grey, steel, or black DLC-coated finishes. Its dimensions measure 43mm in diameter, 48mm in length, and a sleek 12.1mm in thickness. Despite its sculptural construction, the watch weighs just under 70 grams. A screw-down display caseback offers a full view of the inner workings. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, suitable for daily wear but not for extensive water exposure.

The skeletonized dial reveals the bridges and base plate of the movement, CNC-machined with sharp detail. Lumed tips on the skeleton hands and luminous markers at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock offer just enough visibility in low light. Dial finishes vary by model, the silver version offers a monochromatic look, while the carbon and black models feature darker bridges contrasted against metallic movement components.
Powering the watch is the in-house CD-07 caliber, an automatic movement running at 28,800 vph (4Hz) with a 40-hour power reserve. Accuracy ranges from -15 to +25 seconds per day. The watch comes fitted with a matching stainless steel H-link bracelet, coated to match the case. A hidden butterfly clasp ensures a clean profile on the wrist. It joins the brand’s permanent collection, priced at US$499 (approximately AED 1,850).
