Introducing Tag Heuer New Carrera Releases for Watches And Wonders 2024

5 new references to the iconic Carrera collection

Launched in 1963, the TAG Heuer Carrera has been synonymous with precision for more than sixty years. This watch has established itself as an emblem of sophistication, boasting a highly readable dial and high end engineering, rendering it essential for both racing enthusiasts and watch connoisseurs. Named in homage to the iconic Carrera Panamericana Road race, Jack Heuer bestowed this distinctive and impactful name upon his collection of timepieces. Later on the Carrera quickly captured the wrists of many watch lovers and collectors alike. During Watches And Wonders 2024, the brand is introducing three new releases for the Carrera collection, two new chronographs and three new references for the 36mm Carrera date.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph “Panda”

The first release is inspired by the 7753 SN from the late 1960s, a timepiece that featured a silvered dial complemented by black subdials, commonly known as a "panda". This designation was derived from its nomenclature, where 'SN' denoted 'silver noir,' which is French for silver and black.

The new Carrera Chronograph comes in a 39mm stainless steel case, adorned with a sapphire crystal, has been redesigned to ensure a smooth transition over the tachymeter scale encircling the dial edge and extending seamlessly into the case. The case is 13.86 mm thick and features a combination of brushed and polished finishes, with a crown positioned at 3 o'clock, a round push button at 2 o'clock, and another at 4 o'clock, with a screw-down sapphire caseback ensuring 100 meters of water resistance.

The dial features a silver sunray brushed finish, accentuated by a black flange. The tri-compax dial showcases rhodium-plated polished applied hands and indices, equipped with white SuperLumiNova for enhanced visibility. A central hand, also rhodium-plated, features a red lacquered tip. The watch is powered by the in-house Caliber Heuer 02, an Automatic movement that operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers 80 hours of power reserve. The watch comes with a steel three-row bracelet and a steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons, priced at CHF 6,500, which is equivalent to AED 26,500.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Skipper

After a successful return to the yachting scene with last year’s launch of the Carrera Skipper chronograph in steel, TAG Heuer is now unveiling a new release crafted in 18K 5N rose gold. Like its steel counterpart, the gold Skipper follows the highly popular ‘glassbox’ design introduced in early 2023 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic Carrera chronograph. Sharing dimensions with the previous model, measuring 39mm in diameter and 13.9mm in thickness, the case exhibits a blend of fine brushed and polished finishes, elevating the Skipper to a new level of elegance.

The dial layout is identical to the previous steel variant, it features a blue circular brushed finish, with a vibrant regatta count-down indicator, a 15 minute chronograph featuring green, orange, and teal blue lacquer at 3 o’clock, and a teal blue 12 hour counter at 9 o’clock. The hands and indices are made out of 18K 5N rose gold, featuring white Super-LumiNova and orange lacquered triangular tips and central hand. The watch is powered by the in-house automatic Caliber Heuer 02, the exact same caliber powering the “panda” mentioned earlier. The watch comes with a blue fabric strap with an 18K 5N rose gold pin buckle, with a price of CHF 21,000 which is equivalent to AED 86,000.
