Two Watches Fully Crafted from Gold in an Asymmetrical Case
In 2014, Sylvain Berneron transitioned from a series of successful freelance designs with the Richemont Group to pursue a full-time career in watchmaking. This decision allowed him to channel his distinct creative perspective into timepieces. With a keen eye for innovation, and commitment to precision, he embarked on a journey that would reshape the landscape of watch design.

The French designer has worked with Breitling, where he served as the Creative Director for 5 years, and he was recently promoted to chief product officer. During his time at Breitling, he played a key role in the brand’s industry, guiding its creativity. In 2022, Sylvain Berneron and his wife Marie-Alix embarked on the journey of establishing their own brand “Berneron” with support from Breitling’s CEO Georges Kern. Now, Sylvain Berneron introduces his inaugural timepiece the “Mirage” in either white or yellow gold classic asymmetrical case, with a very unique design that provides a glimpse into Sylvain’s creative vision.

The watch boasts a case that marries form and function, crafted from a brushed and polished 18k white or yellow gold asymmetrical case, With dimensions of 34 x 38mm in diameter, and a slender 7.00mm height, showcasing classic elegance. The watch features a hesalite crystal on the front, offering a clear view of the dial. On the caseback, a sapphire crystal provides a transparent glimpse into the intricate movement. The dial matches the case with its material and finishing. Adorned with distinctive blue or burgundy markings and indices, with a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock, while a custom font designed by Berneron gives a unique character to the watch. Reversing the stacking sequence of the elegantly curved 18k gold hands departs from the conventional arrangement, where the longer minute hand typically rests above the shorter hour hand. However, this strategic inversion not only liberates room for a more curvature of the crystal but also contributes to a sleeker and more slender profile for the entire watch.

At the core of this watch lies the asymmetry shaped movement crafted by Le Cercle de Horlogers. This manual-winding features 18k gold mainplates and bridges, comprising 135 crafted components and 17 jewels. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph(3Hz), and offers 60 hours of power reserve. Notably, All the components are made of 18K gold from the case, dial, hands, buckle, spring bars, movement main plate and bridges.

To ensure both elegance and comfort on the wrist, the watch comes with a Barenia leather strap(calf leather), available in blue or brown, with a 18k white or yellow gold pin buckle and spring bars. The watch has a Limited production of 24 pieces for 2025, with a price of CHF 55,000, which is equivalent to AED 230,000, for both watches.
