Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A pilot’s watch defined by black surfaces and vivid green lume
Stowa is best known for its pilot’s watches. The German brand has long been associated with straightforward instrument design, a field defined by legibility and restraint. That background gives Stowa a strong foundation, but it also leaves room for evolution, especially when the brand chooses to reinterpret familiar design codes.

Within its lineup, the Flieger Verus collection represents a more contemporary branch of the brand. It preserves the essential clarity expected of a pilot’s watch, but presents it with cleaner surfaces, slimmer proportions, and a more modern visual language than many traditional flieger executions. The new Flieger Verus Black Forest Foxfire continues in that direction, introducing a darker aesthetic and a distinctive luminous treatment.

The case measures 40 mm in diameter, giving the watch a footprint that remains faithful to the practical and easily wearable character expected of this category. Thickness differs depending on the movement selected, measuring 9.7 mm in the hand-wound version and 11.2 mm in the automatic. Stowa makes the case in stainless steel and finishes it with a black coating over a matte glass bead-blasted surface. Around the back, the watch is fitted with a screw-down caseback and a sapphire crystal, while another sapphire crystal protects the dial on the front. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres.

The dial is black, with hands rendered in green, while the familiar pilot triangle at 12 o’clock, flanked by two dots, receives the strongest luminous emphasis. The numerals and minute markers remain darker and more restrained in daylight, but emit a softer green glow in low light. The layout remains focused on essential reading, with hours, minutes, seconds, and a date display.

Power comes from Sellita, with buyers able to choose between automatic and hand-wound formats. The automatic options use the Sellita SW200 in either basic or top grade, while the manual version is fitted with the Sellita SW210 in top grade. In both cases, the frequency is 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Power reserve differs depending on the calibre, with the SW200 offering a minimum of 38 hours and the SW210 a minimum of 42 hours.

The watch is paired with a black pilot strap, and pricing starts at EUR 1,150, approximately AED 4,900, for the automatic model with the basic movement. The automatic version with the top-grade SW200 is priced at EUR 1,300, approximately AED 5,500, while the hand-wound version with the Sellita SW210 Top is priced the same.
