Elevating its signature field watch with a richer tuxedo layout
Serica may be a young name in watchmaking, but in just a few years it has built a solid foundation. Founded in Paris in 2019 by designer Jérôme Burgert and watch journalist Gabriel Vachette, the brand was created around a simple but ambitious idea: to bring back the spirit of mid century tool watches through modern, uncluttered design and robust mechanical performance. The brand draws from vintage field and military pieces, refining their lines, proportions and finishing into something distinctly French and quietly sophisticated.

The 6190 collection has become one of Serica’s signatures, blending field watch practicality with refined proportions and COSC certified precision. In its latest release, the brand is launching the 6190 TXD, continuing this approach by reintroducing the tuxedo dial with a richer and more polished execution.

The case measures 37.7 mm in diameter and 10.4 mm in thickness including the crystal, with a 46.5 mm lug to lug span. It is crafted entirely from stainless steel and defined by the long twisted lugs that characterize the 6190 family. The surfaces alternate between brushing and polishing, and a double domed sapphire crystal with internal anti reflective coating rises slightly above the bezel. Water resistance is rated at 200 meters.

The dial is the highlight of the watch and presents a refined interpretation of the tuxedo layout. It is arranged in concentric layers with a glossy black center, a beige surrounding ring and an outer minute track. The polished enamel like finish creates a sense of depth. The hand applied indices are filled with Super LumiNova C3, paired with brushed hands and the familiar broad arrow hour hand that instantly signals Serica’s design language.

Inside the watch is the automatic Soprod M100, certified as a chronometer. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 42 hour power reserve. The watch comes with Serica’s stainless steel Bonklip bracelet with a signed clasp and is offered in three lengths to help achieve an accurate and comfortable fit. The new watch joins the permanent collection and is priced at EUR 1,190, approximately AED 5,150.
