The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Seiko Unveils The Style 60s ‘Elegant yet Rugged’ Biker style

A beautiful skeletonized dial inspired by vintage motorcycle engines

The presage collection is one of the most popular collections from the Japanese brand Seiko. Launched in 2016, the Presage series focuses on offering mechanical watches that exude elegance and precision. The collection is particularly recognized for its sophisticated designs, which feature intricate dial patterns often inspired by Japanese culture and nature.

One of the brand’s latest releases this year is the Style 60s 'Elegant Yet Rugged' Biker Style, inspired by the look of 1960s bikers, with a skeletonized dial that distinguishes it from the rest of the collection's designs.

The watch comes in a stainless steel case that measures 39.5mm in diameter, and 12mm in thickness. The bezel includes a 60-minute scale that surrounds the box-shaped Hardlex crystal. The screw-down open case back, allows a view of the movement inside. Additionally, the watch offers 50m of water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear and light water activities.

The skeletonized dial features a cutout pattern that beautifully resembles the inner workings of a vintage motorcycle engine. The charcoal grey metal dial enhances the appeal of the decorative gold-colored movement beneath, creating a captivating contrast. This retro-themed Style 60s watch is further accentuated by laser-curved baton applied indices. Near the logos, the straight-line cutout pattern evokes the look of an air-cooled engine from a classic motorcycle, reinforcing the vintage vibe. Surrounding the indices is a white-printed minute track that runs along the edge of the dial, and the multicoloured dial is complemented by LumiBrite on the hands and indices, ensuring readability in low light.

The watch is powered by the Seiko Calibre 4R72, an automatic movement that offers 41-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). It comes with a brown leather strap, and a stainless steel pin buckle. It is priced at GBP 600, approximately equivalent to AED 2,800.
