Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A tonneau-shaped enamel watch rooted in Japanese craftsmanship
Not every Seiko announces itself through complications, technology, or aggressive design. Some releases arrive quietly, built on creativity and craftsmanship. The Presage collection has gradually evolved into Seiko’s most expressive artistic playground, a space where Japanese craft traditions are allowed to shape not only textures and finishes, but the entire personality of a watch. Enamel, urushi lacquer, and porcelain have become integral to its visual language. In its latest release, the brand introduces the SPB537, a tonneau-shaped dress watch that blends historical references with contemporary execution, creating a piece that feels both nostalgic and modern.

The watch is housed in a stainless steel tonneau-shaped case measuring 46.0 mm in length, 35.9 mm in width, and 12.5 mm in thickness. Its softly curved profile gives the case a fluid presence on the wrist, allowing the elongated silhouette to retain elegant proportions. A sapphire crystal exhibition caseback reveals the movement and its gold-coloured oscillating weight. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.

The dial is crafted in pristine white fired enamel, executed by master artisan Mitsuru Yokosawa alongside Kazunori Uchiyama. The glossy surface carries classical Roman numeral hour markers and a railway-style minute track around the periphery. Slender blued hands provide visual contrast against the enamel surface, while a recessed 24-hour subdial sits at 6 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the in-house automatic calibre 6R5H. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel five-row bracelet designed to follow the curvature of the case. Brushed outer links are contrasted by polished inner rows, and the bracelet is secured by a three-fold clasp with push-button release. This model joins Seiko’s permanent collection at a price of EUR 1,650, approximately AED 7,100.
