A limited edition inspired by the desert, created exclusively for the UAE
Oris has long been one of the most beloved names in independent Swiss watchmaking, known for creating beautiful mechanical watches. Founded in Hölstein in 1904, the brand remains proudly independent and committed to mechanical timepieces, guided today by its philosophy of “Change for the Better.”
For the 75th anniversary of Seddiqi, the leading luxury watch and jewellery retailer in the UAE, Oris pays tribute to a partnership that spans decades with a very special release for the regional market. The result is the Big Crown x Cervo Volante 75th Anniversary Edition, a limited run of only 25 pieces inspired by the hues of the desert.
The watch is presented in a 38 mm stainless steel case that is 12.5mm thick with a domed sapphire crystal that rises gently above the dial, enhancing the vintage character, along with the iconic oversized crown at 3 o’clock. The closed caseback features a 75th-anniversary engraving along with the individual number of the edition.
The dial draws inspiration from the desert landscape, as Seddiqi CEO Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi envisioned a vintage interpretation that captures the warm tones and shifting light of the sands while still honouring Oris’s aviation roots. The result is a sand-coloured fumé dial that transitions from a lighter centre to a deeper tone toward the edges, giving the watch depth and character. Signature design cues include the Pointer Date display, which uses a central hand to indicate the date around the edge of the dial, paired with cathedral-style hands.
Inside the watch beats the Oris Calibre 754 automatic movement, which operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 38-hour power reserve.
The watch continues Oris’s partnership with Cervo Volante, a specialist in sustainably sourced deer leather, which is used to craft the strap in a colour that complements the dial’s desert-inspired tones. The watch is limited to only 25 pieces, created exclusively for the UAE market, and is priced at AED 12,100.
