Two limited editions with a raden dial by Japanese artist Kosetsu
Since its founding in 2015 by French designer Armand Billard, Sartory Billard has pursued unique creations such as the SB04 and Chrysocolla Platinum, along with notable collaborations that produced pieces like the SB05 Sunflower Watch and the SB06 Flying Tourbillon SHH Editions. In its latest release, the French independent brand introduces the SB04-E “Small Bang,” a timepiece that brings the centuries-old Japanese raden technique to the wrist.
The stainless steel case measures 39.5 mm in diameter and features alternating brushed and polished finishes. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, while the caseback is fitted with the same glass, offering a clear view of the movement.

The highlight is the raden dial, available in either a purple-blue or green edition, crafted by Japanese master Tatsuya Todo, also known as Kosetsu. Thin strips of mother-of-pearl are meticulously inlaid into lacquer, radiating outward from the center to form the “Small Bang” effect. Around the perimeter, beneath a sapphire minutes ring, small shell fragments appear suspended, creating a sense of depth. The brand complements this with diamond-cut luminous hands and applied indexes that stand out against the iridescent backdrop.
Turning the watch over reveals an exhibition caseback showcasing a Swiss-made automatic movement from La Joux-Perret. This calibre delivers a 68-hour power reserve.

The green edition is paired with a black rubber strap, while the purple-blue version comes with a dark blue rubber strap. Both are also delivered with a stainless steel bracelet equipped with quick-release spring bars.
