Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Two new planets enter the brand’s space
Sarpaneva is one of the most distinctive names in independent watchmaking, known for a design language that stands apart from traditional Swiss conventions. Founded by Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva, the brand has built its reputation on a small number of strong visual and conceptual pillars: the unmistakable Korona case, expressive moon displays that have become a signature of the maison, and dials that explore depth, texture, and contrast through hand-finished surfaces such as the well-known Stardust treatment. Across its collections, Sarpaneva consistently blends Nordic sensibility with mechanical craft, prioritising character and identity over mass appeal.
In its latest releases, the brand introduces two new timepieces within the Sarpaneva Stardust collection: “Pluto and Mars”. While sharing a common architectural foundation, each model draws inspiration from a distinct cosmic state, Pluto reflecting distance, stillness, and frozen luminosity, and Mars expressing restrained warmth, oxidised tones, and the lingering presence of heat held in suspension.
Stardust Pluto and Mars are housed in Sarpaneva’s unmistakable Korona case, crafted from high-grade brushed and polished Outokumpu stainless steel sourced from Finland. The 42 mm case maintains balanced proportions, measuring 10.4 mm in thickness with a compact 46 mm lug-to-lug length. Sapphire crystals are fitted on both the front and back, each treated with internal multi anti-reflective coating, while a screw-down Sarpaneva crown positioned at 4 o’clock reinforces both comfort and security. The case is completed with water resistance rated to 100 metres.

Both watches feature complex, multi-layered dials constructed from a four-part stainless steel architecture, individually hand-finished, DLC-coated, and hand-painted with Swiss Super-Luminova. The dials are defined by depth and contrast, with open-worked elements that create shadow and structure rather than decoration. Stardust Pluto is distinguished by a silvered, matte-finished base dial paired with two-tone blue hands filled with Swiss Super-Luminova, reinforcing its cool and restrained character. Stardust Mars, by contrast, employs a red gold–plated, matte-finished base dial, complemented by two-tone hands in black ash with luminous accents, evoking a warmer and more atmospheric presence. Across both models, four different colours of Swiss Super-Luminova are used to enhance legibility and visual complexity, while a recessed small seconds subdial positioned between 9 and 10 o’clock adds a functional yet understated indication of time in motion.
Both watches are powered by a modified Chronode P1003 calibre, an automatic movement beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and comprising 244 meticulously finished components. The movement offers a 60-hour power reserve, with rhodium-plated bridges and matt finishing emphasizing Sarpaneva’s commitment to understated craftsmanship.
Both Stardust Pluto and Stardust Mars are offered with a handmade Sarpaneva leather strap, secured by a matching stainless steel pin buckle, with the option of the brand’s signature Moonbridge steel bracelet for a more integrated and robust look. Each model is produced as a limited edition of just 20 pieces per version. The watches are priced at EUR 16,500, which is equivalent to AED 71,500.
