A Legendary Tale Revealed Through the Dial Inside a Rose Gold Case
Roger Dubuis extends its mythical journey with the second chapter in its acclaimed Knights of the Round Table collection, paying homage once again to the legendary wizard Merlin. Following the 2024 debut of “Merlin the Omniscient”, which drew inspiration from the Giant’s Causeway, the Maison now introduces a stunning continuation, "The “Enchanter Merlin”. This timepiece is a celebration of magic, devotion, and artistry, inspired by the tale of the crystal palace Merlin conjured for the Lady of the Lake. With this new edition, Roger Dubuis demonstrates its unwavering commitment to combining technical excellence with storytelling, crafting a watch that is not only a mechanical marvel but a poetic artifact of legend.

Encased in a bold 45mm case made of 18k pink gold, the watch stands as a regal presence on the wrist. The case alternates between brushed and polished finishes, creating a play of light and shadow that mirrors the mythical essence of its inspiration. A sapphire crystal ring under the bezel provides a unique window into the scene, offering a rare perspective on the intricate craftsmanship of the dial.
Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the dial is framed by a three-lug construction and a crown guard shaped like the hilt of a sword—an unmistakable reference to the legendary Excalibur. The caseback is open, revealing the movement beneath through another sapphire crystal, while the timepiece offers water resistance up to 30 meters.
The dial of The Enchanter Merlin is a breathtaking reinterpretation of myth, bringing to life the crystal palace said to have been built by Merlin himself to protect the Lady of the Lake. At its center, 12 meticulously hand-sculpted knights stand guard, each crafted in 18k pink gold with unique armor, weapons, and postures—miniature warriors standing 6mm tall, full of character and movement.
Surrounding them, 56 hexagonal blocks rise in varying heights, crafted from an extraordinary combination of materials: pink gold, Murano-style glass, polished and matte white enamel, and rhodium-plated gold set with rare hexagonal-cut diamonds. At the base, shimmering ruthenium crystals—renowned for their platinum-like luster—evoke the glistening surface of the enchanted lake.

Completing the scene is a two-part white glass ring adorned with pink gold indices, encircling the knights in elegance. The central hour and minute hands, also in pink gold, are filled with Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility in all light conditions.
Powering this exceptional timepiece is the in-house calibre RD821, an automatic movement designed and assembled entirely at the Roger Dubuis manufacture. It is composed of 172 components. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), it offers a 48-hour power reserve and focuses solely on displaying the hours and minutes—allowing the dial’s storytelling to take center stage.
The calibre is adorned with 14 distinctive hand-finishing techniques that meet the rigorous standards of the Poinçon de Genève, a mark of excellence and precision reserved for the most refined horological creations.
Completing the watch is a white calfskin leather strap equipped with a quick-release system. It is secured by a refined triple-folding buckle crafted from matching 18k pink gold. Produced in a limited edition of 28 pieces, this exclusive timepiece is available solely through Roger Dubuis boutiques, priced at CHF 336,000 (approximately AED 1,558,000).
