A Unique Design with an Innovative World Time Function on the Rotating Bezel
Richard Mille Revives the RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer in Red Gold and Titanium. The most remarkable feature of the RM 63-02 lies in its reinterpretation of the world-timer complication. Unlike traditional models that use a crown or pushers to adjust the time, Richard Mille’s movement and casing engineers collaborated to integrate this function directly into a rotating bezel.
The RM 63-02 features a round 47 x 13.45 mm case milled from satin-finished 5N red gold with polished bevels, paired with a grade 5 titanium caseband whose finishes echo the front. Designed for both ease of use and all-day comfort, the case benefits from multi-radius milling on the back, a Richard Mille signature. The three-part case comprises 106 components, including 12 dedicated to controlling the world-timer bezel. A further 86 parts within the Calibre CRMA4 also contribute to this complication.
A pusher at 4 o’clock allows the user to select between neutral, winding, and hand-setting modes with a simple press—operating much like a car’s gearbox.
An aperture located at 4 o’clock displays the selected mode: N (Neutral), W (Winding), or H (Hand-Setting), ensuring there’s no risk of damage if the crown is moved unintentionally.
Thanks to the microblasted 5N red gold bezel mounted on ball bearings, travelers can select a city with a simple twist to instantly set the desired time zone. A wheel integrated into the bezel and connected to the hour wheel simultaneously adjusts the local time to that of the city positioned at 12 o’clock and updates the time for the 23 other cities displayed around the bezel. Time anywhere in the world can be easily read using the graduated inner flange with 24-hour markers. The two-tone disc in rose and burgundy distinguishes day from night while automatically adjusting for each time zone.
The dial, made from transparent sapphire crystal (0.40 mm thick) with anti-glare treatment, features white and black Arabic numerals, red and white triangle indices, and golden hands that match the case material.
Beneath it, the dark grey titanium bridges and baseplate provide a striking contrast. The skeletonized baseplate and bridges, crafted from microblasted grade 5 titanium with electroplasma treatment, offer exceptional rigidity to the overall assembly.
Powering the timepiece is the Calibre CRMA4, an automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). In addition to the world-timer function, it displays central hours, minutes, and seconds, along with Richard Mille’s signature oversized date at 12 o’clock and a function selector at 4 o’clock.
The Richard Mille RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer comes fitted with a white rubber strap and is produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
