Four new dress watches with elegant colors
King Seiko dates back to the early 1960s and was designed, like Grand Seiko, to represent the pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking. However, the King Seiko line was discontinued in 1975. That was until it was revived in 2022 with a limited re-edition inspired by the iconic 1965 King Seiko KSK. Since its revival, the brand has introduced numerous releases that embody distinctive Japanese aesthetics.
This year, King Seiko is launching the KS1969 collection, a series of dress watches inspired by the 1969 King Seiko 45KCM. The new models are available in four different colorways, with one being a limited edition to commemorate Seiko's 100th anniversary.
All the new releases feature the same cushion-shaped case, crafted from stainless steel and measuring 39.4mm in diameter and 9.9mm thick. The case includes a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, surrounded by a thin polished bezel. Additionally, it is equipped with a solid screw-down caseback engraved with the King Seiko logo.

Each model is equipped with a unique dial, with a time and date display. The SJE109 closely resembles the original King Seiko 45KCM, designed to evoke the modern cityscape of Tokyo, where King Seiko was first created in 1961. The SJE111 features a purple dial in "Edo purple," a traditional Japanese color celebrated during the Edo period.
The SJE113 showcases a green dial with a gradient finish, reflecting the natural greenery that covers parts of Tokyo and its surroundings. Finally, the SJE115 is a limited edition of 700 pieces, celebrating Seiko's 100th anniversary. It boasts a light greenish-blue dial with a triangular-shaped textured pattern inspired by dragon scales, corresponding to the animal sign for 2024 in the Japanese zodiac.
The watch is powered by the slimline Caliber 6L35, an in-house automatic movement that operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 45-hour power reserve. The watch comes with a stainless steel multi-row bracelet, with a triple folding clasp. All watches are priced at USD 3,100, which is equivalent to AED 11,400.
