Gerald Charles Unveils Its Most Complex Timepiece, The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar

Gerald Charles, the independent Swiss watchmaking Maison founded by the great Mr. Gérald Charles Genta, unveils its most complicated watch since its reestablishment less than a decade ago. The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, developed entirely in-house, marks a new chapter for the young and ambitious Maison as it continues to expand its repertoire of poetic complications.

In keeping with Gerald Charles’s “No Compromise” watchmaking philosophy, established by Mr. Genta more than a quarter of a century ago, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar introduces an in-house, asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar calibre with a three-counter display.

Renaud Tixier is an independent brand rooted in a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and technical reinvention, with a focus on a limited series of seven timepieces that reinterpret classical watchmaking principles through patented innovations and exceptional hand finishing.
The Monday was the brand’s first watch among the seven, marking a new chapter for watchmakers Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier.

The brand strengthened its presence in the Middle East by unveiling the latest evolution of its work during Dubai Watch Week 2025, in collaboration with Perpétuel Gallery, its exclusive authorised retailer in the UAE.

The latest evolution comes in the form of new dial executions for the flagship Monday model. The case measures 40.8 mm in diameter and 12.6 mm in thickness, including the domed sapphire crystal. It is crafted in white gold, with a rose gold variant also available. The case is distinguished by hand engraved flanks and engraved plates between the lugs. The sapphire caseback offers a view of the movement. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

The dial is finished with a grained, and circular satin brushed surface. Colour options include racing green paired with taupe grey and petrol blue paired with silver. Nine faceted indices are coated in rose gold or white gold, depending on the case. The hands are polished and satin brushed with matching metallic finishes. The dial features a sector inspired small seconds counter.

The watch is powered by the automatic calibre RVI2023. It operates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement features a gold plated platinum micro rotor.

The rose gold version is fitted with a British green calf leather strap with a textile like texture. The white gold model is fitted with a deep blue suede calf leather strap. The Monday is part of a planned series of seven horological creations produced in limited quantities. The price is available upon request.
