A limited-edition paying tribute to Russia’s first fifth-generation combat aircraft
Raketa continues to celebrate its Russian roots, this time paying tribute to the nation’s military industry and its first fifth-generation fighter jet, the Sukhoi Su-57. The brand marks this engineering milestone with the launch of the Raketa Su, a timepiece inspired by one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world.
Raketa began this line of commemorative editions with the renowned Raketa Sonar Limited Edition, inspired by the nuclear submarine Kashalot. Now, the brand turns its attention skyward to honor the cutting-edge innovation of the Su-57.
The Sukhoi Su-57 is Russia’s fifth-generation stealth multirole fighter, designed for air superiority and ground-attack missions. It features advanced stealth technology, supercruise capability, and integrated avionics for enhanced situational awareness. Developed by Sukhoi, it entered limited service with the Russian Air Force in 2020, with full-scale production commencing in 2025. Exports are expected to begin by 2026, placing the Su-57 in direct competition with the American F-35 Lightning II by Lockheed Martin.
The design of the new Raketa Su draws direct inspiration from the Su-57 — a supermaneuverable stealth aircraft known for its power and sophistication. The dark color palette of the watch is more than an aesthetic choice; it reflects the aircraft’s stealth technology and advanced materials. Just as the Su-57’s fuselage and coatings make it nearly invisible to radar, the glossy silhouette of the jet printed on the matte black dial seems to fade seamlessly into the shadows.
The stainless steel case, treated with black PVD coating, enhances the stealthy appeal. Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13.65 mm in thickness, the watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal featuring a double-sided anti-reflective coating reminiscent of the fighter’s digital instrument panel. The screw-down crown, adorned with a red ruby, ensures 200 meters of water resistance.
The matte black dial features high-contrast black and white hands, large numerals, and Super-LumiNova coating for optimal legibility. At 6 o’clock, a glossy black outline of the Su-57 subtly decorates the dial, while the seconds hand is finished in black and the hour and minute hands alternate between black and white tones.
Powering the Raketa Su is the automatic calibre 2615, entirely developed and manufactured by Raketa in Saint Petersburg. As one of the few fully integrated watchmakers, Raketa designs, produces, assembles, and regulates nearly every component in-house. The movement beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) and offers a 40-hour power reserve, with precision adjusted to a daily rate of –10/+20 seconds.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement reveals sandblasted finishing on the plates and a rotor decorated with Su-57 camouflage pattern.
Each timepiece is presented in a special metal case with dual locks and safety ribbons marked “Remove Before Flight.” Echoing the pre-flight procedures of a fighter pilot, the owner must remove the tag before accessing the watch, a playful ritual that ties the experience back to aviation. The set also includes an extra genuine leather strap and a 1:100 scale metal model of the Sukhoi Su-57.
The Raketa Su is limited edition to 800 pieces and priced at 13,450 AED .
The watch is available for pre-order in Waqt E-shop.
