A Unique Design Inspired by Moscow’s Renowned Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre
The Raketa Watch Factory, in collaboration with Moscow’s renowned Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre, unveils an exclusive limited-edition timepiece: the Raketa Theatre Edition. Inspired by the theatre’s intimate auditorium of just 100 seats, each watch is a tribute to a personalized seat, individually engraved with its number: 1/100, 2/100… up to 100/100. Only 100 pieces of this exceptional series will be produced.
The elegantly restrained design of the Raketa Theatre Edition is enriched with three distinctive accents: an avant-garde dial, multicolored printing on the rotor, and contrasting stitching on the leather strap. These elements harmonize to create a striking balance between subtlety and character.
Housed in a fully polished stainless steel case measuring 39.5mm in diameter, the watch features a domed sapphire crystal that ensures both clarity and durability. The caseback incorporates mineral glass, revealing the decorated movement within, and is engraved with the watch’s unique limited-edition number. The crown is set with a synthetic ruby, and the watch is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The dial draws inspiration from the famous pediment clock adorning the façade of the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre, where each hour corresponds to a figurine of an animal. Raketa’s designers have reinterpreted these figurines in a modern, avant-garde style and applied them to the dial.
Beyond watchmaking, Raketa specialists are also assisting the theatre in restoring its monumental façade clock, reflecting the brand’s commitment to cultural preservation and the integration of art into its movements.
The dial’s animal figures animate each hour marker, while Super-LumiNova-coated hands ensure excellent legibility in low light. The hour and minute hands contrast beautifully—the hour hand in black and the minute hand coated with white Super-LumiNova—while the interplay of color, print, and geometry echoes Raketa’s avant-garde design ethos.
At the heart of the watch is the automatic calibre 2615, entirely developed in Raketa’s Saint Petersburg factory. Operating at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz) with a 40-hour power reserve, the movement features a bi-directional rotor with multicolor inscriptions, decorated with Raketa’s signature Neva waves pattern.
It also includes a stop-seconds function for precise time setting. While the mainplate and rotor showcase dark grey steel tones, the wheels are finished in golden hues for a striking color contrast.
The Raketa Theatre Edition is paired with a black leather strap with a red interior, featuring contrast stitching and a stainless steel folding buckle. Priced at €3,000 (approximately AED 14,300), each piece is individually numbered on the caseback, underscoring its exclusivity.
