The Russian brand’s icon returns with bold, modern black aesthetic
Raketa is one of the few watch manufacturers that still produces its movements entirely in house, continuing a tradition that has shaped the brand since its beginnings in Saint Petersburg in 1961. Over the years, Raketa has preserved a distinct identity built around bold aesthetics and Russian mechanical know-how. Among its most emblematic creations is the Big Zero, a model recognized for its oversized numerals and a design that made it an icon for many.

Today, Raketa is taking a new step with a collaboration alongside the renowned designer Artemy Lebedev as it celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of Art Lebedev Studio, presenting the Big Zero Lebedev, a limited edition that distills the original model into a purer and more modern expression.

The watch is housed in a stainless steel case with vertical matte satin finishing and glossy polished surfaces. It measures 40 mm in diameter, 14.05 mm in thickness, and 43 mm from lug to lug. The construction includes a sapphire crystal on the front for durability and clarity. A tinted mineral glass caseback reveals the black rotor of the movement and displays the logo of Art Lebedev Studio. The watch is rated for 100 meters of water resistance.

The dial comes in matte black with convex markers that rise subtly above the surface. The oversized numerals return in a modernized layout anchored by the signature large zero at 12 o’clock. The hands are also matte black, maintaining the monochrome theme.

Powering the watch is the Russian automatic Calibre 2615. Manufactured from start to finish at the Raketa Watch Factory, this movement runs at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 40 hours.

For the first time in a Raketa watch, a rubber strap is used. It is designed with a customizable length that the wearer can adjust precisely using the included measuring bracelet and pin remover. A deployant clasp with a leaf spring completes the setup. The Raketa Big Zero Lebedev is limited to 300 pieces and priced at EUR 2,250, equivalent to AED 11,350.
