Limited to 88 Pieces, A Tribute to the Year of the Snake
Perrelet has unveiled the Turbine Snake to commemorate the upcoming Chinese New Year, which begins on January 29, 2025, marking the start of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar. Dedicated to the Year of the Wood Snake, this limited-edition timepiece celebrates a zodiac sign traditionally associated with wisdom and creativity. The watch is produced in a limited series of 88 pieces, a number symbolizing luck in Chinese culture.
The Turbine Snake features a 41mm case crafted from grade 2 titanium with a black DLC coating, highlighted by Perrelet's signature grooves. The flat, smooth bezel and the crown, personalized with the Perrelet "P" logo, complement the case design. The watch offers water resistance up to 100 meters and is fitted with a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both the front and back. The sapphire crystal case back is adorned with a printed snake motif, adding a unique touch to this exclusive piece.
The dial showcases a striking 12-blade turbine made from black anodized aluminum, set against a red lacquered sub-dial—a color symbolizing luck and protection in Chinese tradition. The sub-dial is further embellished with golden auspicious ideograms representing well-being and prosperity. A gilded, three-dimensional snake motif in bas-relief dominates the design, with its raised head, piercing eyes, and forked tongue rising above intricately detailed scales.
Surrounding the dial is a red inner bezel with hour indices and Arabic numerals, while the seconds hand is also in red. The hour and minute hands, finished in white, ensure excellent legibility.
At the heart of the Turbine Snake is the P-331-MH automatic movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offering a 42-hour power reserve. Designed entirely in-house and manufactured by Suprod, a subsidiary of the Festina Group, the movement has earned dual certifications from COSC and Chronofiable, attesting to its precision and durability. The movement’s finishing includes a snailed main plate, circular-grained bridges, and a polished, rhodium-plated oscillating weight engraved with the Perrelet logo.
The watch is paired with a black rubber strap, embossed with the Perrelet "P" logo and secured with a folding buckle. Limited to 88 pieces, the Turbine Snake is priced at CHF 5,180, approximately AED 21,600.
