Gerald Charles, the independent Swiss watchmaking Maison founded by the great Mr. Gérald Charles Genta, unveils its most complicated watch since its reestablishment less than a decade ago. The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, developed entirely in-house, marks a new chapter for the young and ambitious Maison as it continues to expand its repertoire of poetic complications.

In keeping with Gerald Charles’s “No Compromise” watchmaking philosophy, established by Mr. Genta more than a quarter of a century ago, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar introduces an in-house, asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar calibre with a three-counter display.

At the occasion of Miami Design Week, Panerai introduces the Luminor GMT Power Reserve Ceramica PAM01674, a strikingly sleek and monochromatic addition to the Maison’s iconic Luminor collection. This new timepiece celebrates Panerai’s legacy of bold, functional design while embracing contemporary aesthetics and cutting-edge materials, perfectly aligned with the innovative spirit of Design Miami. The new watch embodies Panerai’s philosophy of “less is more,” blending streamlined design with robust functionality.

Crafted entirely from high-tech Zirconium Oxide ceramic, the 44mm case ensures a seamless, understated look while offering extraordinary durability. The ceramic is injection-moulded, shaped with diamond wheels, and then sand-blasted, making it five times harder than steel and resistant to scratches, high temperatures, and corrosion. The case back is made of titanium treated with black DLC, ensuring 100 m water resistance.

The matt black sandwich dial, with a lower layer coated in grey Super-LumiNova X1, reflects Panerai’s naval origins, offering optimal readability in low-light conditions. The GMT hand, centered with the hour and minute hands, distinguishes itself with an arrow shape, coated in vivid blue Super-LumiNova X1. Additional features include a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, a date window positioned at 3 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 5 o'clock marked with “Ore” instead of “hours,” referencing the Italian roots of the brand. The hour indices are mixed with Arabic numerals.

Powering the watch is the automatic movement P.9012 caliber. With a power reserve of three days, the watch’s energy is efficiently stored in two spring barrels, wound by a bidirectional oscillating weight. The caliber consists of 231 components and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).

The bracelet is also made from ceramic, the same composite used in the case. The Panerai Luminor GMT Power Reserve Ceramica is priced at USD 19,100, which is equivalent to 70,150 AED.
