Expanding the iconic collection with a new collaboration with the Italian sailing team, Luna Rossa
Panerai watches are known for their large size and bold designs that give them a distinctive presence on the wrist. This size is not just an aesthetic element but is an essential part of Panerai’s identity, with most of its models designed in a unique style. A significant moment in Panerai’s history was in 2019 when it became the Official Timekeeper of the Luna Rossa team, leading to the release of distinctive watches such as the Submersible Tourbillon GMT, which was launched to coincide with the America’s Cup Finals at Watches & Wonders 2024. Additionally, three other models were introduced, inspired by the Italian team: the “Submersible Quaranta Quattro Luna Rossa T Ceramic” (with two different dials) and the “Submersible Luna Rossa Titanio”. Now, Panerai is once again collaborating with the Luna Rossa team, unveiling the Submersible Quaranta Quattro Luna Rossa, with aesthetics inspired by the Luna Rossa boat competing in the 37th America’s Cup sailing race.
The watch features a case made of brushed AISI 316L stainless steel, known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. Measuring 44mm in diameter, the case includes an anti-clockwise rotating bezel crafted from polished black ceramic. The bezel is marked with a graduated 60-minute scale and indices for the first 15 minutes. Designed for high functionality, the watch boasts a water resistance of up to 300 meters. On the caseback, a unique engraving showcases the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli boat.
The silver dial reflects the elegant look of the team boat AC75 , which has a similar silver hue. The dial features large hour markers and hands coated with Super-LumiNova for easy readability in low light conditions. A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, while the small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, with its distinctive snail pattern, features a red hand and indices coated with the same luminescent material.
It is powered by the automatic P.900 movement, featuring 23 jewels and operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz). The movement incorporates an Incabloc anti-shock system and offers a three-day power reserve, comprising a total of 171 components.

The watch comes with two strap options: one is a Luna Rossa bi-material strap, combining rubber and textile with a sporty design and a red accent to honor the sailing team collaboration. The other strap is crafted from black rubber. Both straps are paired with a brushed steel buckle, and its limited edition of 137 pieces. The watch is priced at USD 12,100, equivalent to AED 44,500.
