Introducing Omega Unveils The Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition

Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the precision and accuracy of the event's timekeeping. From the opening ceremony on Friday, 26 July 2024, until Sunday, 11 August 2024, Paris will host the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. This significant event marks the first time the City of Light has hosted the Olympics since 1924. During this period, around 10 million visitors are expected to converge on Paris to witness this grand spectacle.

To celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Omega has released two special timepieces: the Seamaster Diver 300M and the Speedmaster Chronoscope. Just before the start of the ceremony, Omega unveiled a third commemorative watch: the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition. This vintage-style timepiece pays tribute to the three medals awarded at the Olympic Games—gold, silver, and bronze.

The new timepiece draws inspiration from the CK 859, a watch that was discontinued two years ago. The Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition takes its dimensions from that watch, as it measures 39mm x 11.7mm. The case is crafted from Omega’s exclusive Bronze Gold alloy. This unique alloy combines 37.5% gold, hallmarked as 9K, with palladium and silver, providing high corrosion resistance without the typical verdigris oxidation associated with regular bronze. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal, while the caseback is stamped and frosted with the Olympic Games Paris 2024 medallion.

The dial is crafted from solid Ag 925 silver and features a Clous de Paris pattern at its center. It also includes a small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock and a minute track with a circular brushed pattern. The dark grey Omega logo is presented in a vintage-inspired font, and the 18K Sedna Gold hands (Omega’s rose gold alloy) are coated with PVD Bronze Gold finish.

The watch is powered by the Calibre 8926, an in-house manual winding movement that is Master Chronometer certified. It operates at 25,200 vph (3.5 Hz) and offers a 72-hour power reserve supplied by two barrels. The movement features a silicon balance spring and a co-axial escapement. The watch comes with a brown calfskin leather strap with a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle, adorned with a vintage Omega logo, and is priced at AED 46,350.
