A beautiful green dial in a collaboration with Norwegian architectural design collective MIR
In 1956, Joseph Ollech and Albert Wajs founded Ollech & Wajs in Zurich, Switzerland, starting with a small retail counter selling Swiss watches. By 1959, the brand shifted its focus exclusively to watchmaking.
In 2023, Ollech & Wajs introduced the OW 8001 with a Havana fumé dial. Now, two years later, the brand unveils the OW 8001 ‘Tundra,’ featuring a green fumé dial, in collaboration with the Norwegian architectural design collective MIR, which is renowned for its CGI work.
The watch is housed in a brushed, tonneau-shaped case made of 316L stainless steel, measuring 39.5 mm in diameter and 12.7 mm in thickness. It features a fixed bezel engraved with laser markers at 1-minute and 5-minute intervals. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and paired with a screw-down crown, ensuring water resistance up to 300 meters.
The double-lacquered Tundra green fumé dial is the standout feature of this watch. Its organic gradient transitions subtly with light, evoking the natural hues of fjords and forests. The dial is equipped with baton-style hands and indices coated in Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in low-light conditions. A discreet date window is positioned at 6 o’clock.

The watch is powered by the COSC-certified Soprod Newton P092 movement, an automatic caliber that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 44 hours. It is paired with an integrated oyster-style bracelet featuring a sturdy engraved clasp with a double pusher-release system. The OW 8001 Tundra joins the brand’s permanent collection and is priced at CHF 1,956, approximately AED 8,000.
