Introducing Ochs Und Junior Unveils the Settimana PVD

Two releases featuring PVD treated dials

Since its beginnings in the mid-2000s, ochs und junior has been shaped by a single, consistent idea: watches should be reduced to what is functionally necessary, expressed through logic rather than decoration. This approach, developed in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker and designer Ludwig Oechslin, has defined the brand’s output from the start and established a distinctive visual and conceptual language.

Introduced in 2008, the Settimana collection was among the earliest designs created for ochs und junior and remains one of its most conceptually direct pieces. The watch rethinks the familiar display of time and weekdays, eliminating conventional markers and replacing them with a system that uses central hands and a single moving dot to indicate the day of the week.

For 2026, the Settimana returns in an evolved form. Two new versions introduce black or brown PVD-treated dials, adding a new surface treatment that places greater emphasis on visual character. The case, crafted from grade 5 titanium, remains unchanged in its proportions, measuring 36 mm in diameter and retaining a deliberately restrained presence on the wrist.

The new PVD surface is offered in two executions. One features a black PVD dial paired with pink hour, minute, and second hands, along with a matching weekday dot. The other adopts a brown PVD surface accented by gold-toned hands and a coordinating weekday dot. Time is displayed via centrally mounted hands, accompanied by the Settimana’s defining weekday indication. Instead of text or numerals, a single colored dot progresses clockwise between 1 and 7 o’clock to indicate the days of the week.

Powering the watch is the ETA 2824-2 in Top Grade specification. The automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 38 hours. The watch is delivered on a textile strap handmade by Swiss designer Sabina Brägger and is accompanied by a calf leather pouch. Pricing is set at CHF 2,300, approximately AED 10,900.
