A Design Celebrating African Wildlife, in Collaboration with Dean Schneider
Norqain, in collaboration with Swiss wildlife ambassador Dean Schneider, unveils the Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm Hakuna Mipaka. In 2017, Schneider gave up his life in Switzerland and moved to South Africa, where he established a wildlife sanctuary and animal rehabilitation center called Hakuna Mipaka.
His inspiring journey embodies Norqain’s motto: Your life, your way. Fittingly, Hakuna Mipaka Swahili for "No Limits" captures the spirit of this new timepiece. Ten percent of the proceeds from this limited edition are directed toward wildlife rescue and conservation efforts, lending a deeper purpose to what could otherwise be just another luxury watch.
The Wild ONE Skeleton Hakuna Mipaka features a black NORTEQ cage, an advanced composite material developed by Norqain to enhance both durability and performance. The case is reinforced with a black rubber shock absorber and complemented by a sandblasted titanium container and caseback, delivering a construction that is both robust and lightweight.
Measuring 42.00 mm in diameter and 12.30 mm in thickness, the watch is water-resistant to 200 meters.
A double anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, while an exhibition caseback reveals the red "Hakuna Mipaka, ONE of 200" inscription alongside the sanctuary’s logo, adding an exclusive signature. A screw-down crown overmolded with black rubber and a black NORTEQ® plate engraved on the left side of the case complete the dynamic, purposeful design.
The openworked dial is framed by a black inner bezel and minute track. Skeletonized indices and rhodium-plated hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova® for optimal readability. The faceted, diamond-cut minute hand is further enhanced with red X1 Super-LumiNova® at the tip for added visibility in low-light conditions.
Inside, the watch is powered by the Norqain Calibre NN08S, a skeletonized automatic movement that is chronometer-certified by COSC for exceptional accuracy and reliability. It features a personalized Norqain oscillating weight, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), and offers a power reserve of 41 hours.
Completing the watch is a custom black rubber strap featuring a bold geometric 'safari' pattern inspired by the wilderness of the Hakuna Mipaka sanctuary. Each pattern is individually hand-applied, giving every piece a unique finish that reflects the artisanal spirit of this limited edition. The strap is secured with a matching black NORTEQ® pin buckle.
Limited to 200 pieces, the Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton Hakuna Mipaka is priced at CHF 5,250, approximately AED 23,240.
