Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

Two new releases in a more compact, modern size
Norqain is one of the youngest independent Swiss watchmakers on the market. The brand has made a name for itself through the Independence collection, which introduced a variety of bold timepieces, including the 42mm Skeleton model unveiled last year. This year, the brand follows up with a more compact iteration, introducing a new 40mm size available in both Black DLC and stainless steel.

The new case measures 40mm in diameter, 12.05mm in thickness, and 46.3mm lug-to-lug, more compact than the previous 42mm editions yet still visually assertive. The Black DLC version features a stainless steel case coated in DLC, while the stainless steel variant opts for a classic mix of brushed and polished finishes. Both cases are robustly constructed, offering 100 metres of water resistance, a screw-down crown with protective guards, and the signature Norqain plate on the case flank.

On the dial side, both models reveal openworked anthracite bridges, exposing the movement beneath. Faceted indices and black-plated skeletonised hands are filled with white X1 Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility. A touch of colour comes courtesy of the seconds hand, orange on the DLC model and turquoise on the steel version.

Powering the watch is the Norqain Calibre NN08S, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1a. It is COSC-certified, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and provides a power reserve of 41 hours. The skeletonised movement is visible from both the front and the back, thanks to the sapphire crystal caseback, which also highlights the personalised Norqain rotor.

The Black DLC version is offered with either a khaki or black rubber strap, both priced at €4,160 (approximately AED 16,800). The stainless steel model comes on a grey rubber strap for €3,950 (AED 16,000) or on a matching steel bracelet for €4,200 (AED 17,000).
