Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
An elegant release with a new in-house movement
Nomos has built its name on a precise Bauhaus aesthetic and meticulous German engineering, a philosophy that perfectly balances traditional craftsmanship with modern design. While models like the Tangente and Ludwig reflect the brand’s classical roots, the Metro embodies its contemporary side: sleek, refined, and distinctly urban in character.
In its latest release, the brand introduces the Metro 38 Date, powered by its new in-house hand-wound calibre DUW 4601. This model retains everything collectors appreciate about the Metro while adding a quick-set date mechanism for enhanced functionality.
The watch is housed in a polished stainless-steel case measuring 38.5 mm in diameter and 7.8 mm in thickness, with long wire-style lugs that emphasize its elegant proportions and balanced wrist presence. A domed sapphire crystal preserves the clean minimalism Nomos is known for, while a finely knurled crown completes the design. Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback that provides a full view of the movement within. The case offers water resistance up to 50 meters.
The white silver-plated dial features light blue markers at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock, framed by a black minute track punctuated with small dots to mark the hours. A small seconds subdial with a red hand sits at 6 o’clock beside the date window, while the needle-shaped hands in oxidized black ensure clarity and balance.
Powering the watch is the hand-wound calibre DUW 4601, the latest evolution of Nomos’s in-house engineering. Beating at 21,600 vph (3 Hz), it offers a 52-hour power reserve. The movement incorporates the Nomos Swing System, the brand’s proprietary escapement with a blued balance spring, and includes a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting.
Completing the piece is a 19 mm black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap, fitted with quick-change spring bars for easy swaps and secured by a stainless-steel pin buckle. The watch joins the brand’s permanent collection and is priced at EUR 2,780 (approximately AED 11,800).
