A new double date function and a newly developed movement
Nomos Glashütte is a renowned German brand founded in 1990 in Glashütte town. The independent brand manufactures its movements in-house, giving it complete control over both design and engineering. The brand has a variety of collections in its catalogues, and one of its most famous is the Tangente collection. Now, the brand is launching the latest addition to this collection, the Tangente 2date that can keep track of the date in two exclusive ways.
The new watch comes in a stainless steel case that measures 37.5mm in diameter and has a slim profile of 6.75mm thick, complete with a sapphire crystal on both the dial and case back, which includes an anti-reflective coating. Its two-part polished case presents a sleek design while providing 50 meters of water resistance.

The dial, available in galvanized silver or polished blue, features printed numerals and indices with a central minute track, along with a sub-dial above 6 o'clock that displays small seconds. A notable innovation is the double date indicator, which combines a traditional window at 6 o’clock with numeral tracks from 1 to 31 along the edge of the dial, revealing the current date through color-changing windows positioned between the numerals. Red and white date accents on the dial to improve readability, while the thin hands are rhodium plated.

The watch is powered by the in-house DUW 4601 hand-wound movement, which cleverly integrates a patented quick-set date mechanism on the same plane as the movement. Featuring the proprietary NOMOS swing system, this caliber offers a 52-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). It is adorned with rhodium-plated surfaces displaying subtle sunray lines, as well as the “Glashütte” engraving on the ratchet wheel in gold for an added touch of elegance.
It comes with a black cordovan leather strap and a stainless steel pin buckle. It is available with two options: a closed case back, priced at USD 2,760, equivalent to AED 10,200, or a sapphire crystal case back, which increases the price to USD 3,020, equivalent to AED 11,000.
