The Canyon Forest Green Edition with an Enamel Dial
Nodus, the American watchmaker, returns with a new collaboration alongside automotive journalist Matt Farah, a prominent figure deeply rooted in contemporary car culture and best known for his show The Smoking Tire. An avid watch collector, Farah approached this project not as a celebrity endorser, but as a passionate enthusiast with a clear and well-defined vision for his ideal everyday timepiece.
This latest model retains the same dimensions as the previous limited edition, featuring a 41 mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.5 mm. A screw-down triple-seal crown is capped with Copper PVD, a detail inspired by the bronze-toned wheels found on many of the vehicles in Farah’s personal collection.
The caseback is engraved with a map of the Angeles Crest canyon roads, favorite driving route, along with the name of his popular YouTube channel, The Smoking Tire. A flat sapphire crystal with blue anti-reflective coating on the underside ensures excellent legibility in all lighting conditions.
The dial, finished in a striking Canyon Forest Green, draws inspiration from the dense trees of the Angeles Crest. It undergoes a meticulous enameling process to achieve a rich, glossy surface. Golden hands and indices add a touch of luxury to the sporty design, while a fumé effect, a hallmark of the Canyon series, creates a gradient that darkens towards the dial’s outer edge.
Readability and visual depth are key design elements. Large, three-dimensional indices are carefully applied atop the enamel dial, resulting in a layered construction that gives the illusion of floating markers above the green backdrop.
Powering the watch is the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, equipped with 24 jewels and offering a robust 68-hour power reserve. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement is regulated in-house at the Nodus atelier in Los Angeles, achieving a daily accuracy within ±8 seconds.
Completing the timepiece is a Five Links stainless steel bracelet fitted with the proprietary NodeX clasp. This exclusive edition is limited to just 100 pieces and is priced at 1,199 USD which is equivalent to AED 4,950.
“Waqt” is the exclusive distributor of Nodus in the Middle East. The watch is available for order through our online store or by contacting us directly.
