Introducing Titanium finds its way back to the Overseas collection

This time with the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon edition

Titanium, which is 30% stronger than steel and half its weight, is a metal perfectly suited to sports watch collections. For Vacheron Constantin, the first proposal was in 2008 for the Quai de l'Île collection and in 2009 for Overseas timepieces, initially for bezels only. The collaboration with mountaineer Cory Richards led to the creation of the Overseas Everest limited series in 2021, featuring a titanium case, bezel, pushers. In 2022, Vacheron Constantin introduced the first all-titanium Overseas tourbillon skeleton model. with a solid dial in the emblematic blue shade. Now, on the occasion of Watch and Wonders, they launched a brand new Overseas tourbillon Titanium. While the latest Overseas editions we covered come with a new dial in a green hue, the blue dial we already saw in the Overseas tourbillon in white gold.

Crafted with Titanium Grade 5, the new timepiece boasts a 42.5 mm diameter and a slim 10.39 mm thickness. remaining faithful with its dimensions to its predecessors captivating us with its design. Its durability is enhanced by a soft iron casing ring, providing robust anti-magnetic protection. Featuring a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the watch offers a glimpse into its intricate mechanics. With water resistance tested at a pressure of 50 m, it assures reliability even in challenging conditions.

The blue lacquer dial boasts a beautiful sunburst finish. Accentuating its allure are 18k white gold hour markers. The hour and minute hands, also crafted in 18k white gold, are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring enhanced visibility in any lighting conditions. At 6 o'clock position, the tourbillon takes center stage, commanding attention with a hand mirror-polished bridge that features a small seconds counter.

Powering this timepiece is the ultra thin VC calibre 2160 measuring 31mm diameter x 5.65mm thickness, an automatic movement with a 22k gold peripheral gold rotor. It boasts 80 hours of power reserve, and operates at 18,000vph (2.5Hz). This movement is decorated with hand-beveled bridges adorned in Côtes de Genève.
