Schwarz Etienne collaborates with Al Majed Jewellery, unveiling the Limited Edition Qatar Golden Dunes
Here at Waqt, we hold a profound appreciation for independent watchmakers. We recognize and celebrate the artisanal craftsmanship, innovation, and individuality that independent horologists bring to the world of timepieces. These brands, unbound by the constraints of mass production, infuse each creation with a unique character and meticulous attention to detail, and Schwarz Etienne is among the brands that left an exceptional mark. The brand was established in 1902 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a city widely renowned as the watchmaking capital of Switzerland. The company produces its own in-house movements and excels in creating most of the regulating organs in-house, showcasing a rare competence even within the Swiss watchmaking landscape.

One of their iconic releases is the Roma Synergy, a collaboration between Schwarz Etienne and the famous watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. This partnership has yielded an exceptional timepiece, the Roma Synergy by Kari Voutilainen. Les Ateliers Kari Voutilainen practices rare crafts, a skill set limited to only a few firms. Additionally, they are responsible for the dial creation and movement finishing. The dial of the Schwarz Etienne ROMA SYNERGY by Kari Voutilainen is crafted using a manually operated rose engine lathe, ensuring superior definition.

This year, Schwarz Etienne collaborates with its exclusive retailer in Qatar, Al Majed Jewellery, and unveils a special edition of the Roma Synergy by Kari Voutilainen. The "Roma Synergy by Kari Voutilainen Qatar Golden Dunes Edition" is limited to 10 pieces and comes in a stainless steel case, measuring 39 mm in diameter, and a height of 11.00 mm, ensuring a sleek and comfortable presence on the wrist.

The dial of the Golden Dunes Edition is a canvas of craftsmanship. The honey and blue hand-guilloché dial is skillfully crafted by Les Ateliers Kari Voutilainen, and introduces a unique aesthetic dimension. The blue flang is finished in sunray guillochë pattern, and the center dial features the "écaille de poisson" guilloché pattern, while the small seconds sub-dial exhibits the "vague" pattern at 6 o’clock, showcasing the artistry involved in every detail. The lancine-style hour and minute hands, made from brass with a silver color, harmonize with the silver eastern arabic numerals.

At the heart of this timepiece lies a manufactured automatic movement with a micro-rotor, the ASE 200.00. The movement showcases traditional hand guilloché emanating from the balance wheel to the bridges, a craftsmanship feat achieved by Les Ateliers Kari Voutilainen. This movement operates at 21,600 vph (3Hz), and offers 80 hours of power reserve. The timepiece is adorned with a blue leather strap, with a cognac leather lining for added luxury.
