The fourth release from the brand’s partnership with the Reef Restoration Foundation
Oris has embraced its "Change for the Better" mission, emphasizing sustainability and environmental conservation. This mission led to a partnership with the Reef Restoration Foundation, an Australian non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef system, spanning over 2,300 kilometers.
As part of this collaboration, Oris released three timepieces featuring nature-inspired dial designs. Building on this success, the brand is now unveiling the fourth edition, the Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV.
The watch is based on the latest Aquis Date 43.50mm, as it comes in a stainless steel case that is both brushed and polished, featuring a unidirectional rotating bezel with a tungsten minutes scale ring. It has a double domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protecting the dial. The watch boasts a water resistance of 300 meters, thanks to the screw-down crown and the screwed caseback that's engraved with an image of a starfish and corals, along with the “Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition” inscription and the individual limited number indicating one of the 2,000 pieces available.
The dial takes center stage, rendered in a gradient blue that mimics the turquoise and blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef, capturing the natural refraction of the sun’s rays through the water. It also features applied indices and hands coated with Super-LumiNova, along with a date window at 6 o'clock.
The watch is powered by calibre Oris 400, an automatic movement that operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz), and offers 5 days of power reserve (120 hours). It comes with a triple-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp and divers extension. It is priced at CHF 3,900, equivalent to AED 16,000.
