Introducing New Grand Seiko in three colors exclusively For The United States

Few weeks ago, we covered two new Grand Seiko Heritage 44GS models inspired by the original 44GS, which embodies the brand's iconic Japanese design and has a history dating back to 1967. Now, Grand Seiko has released a trio of 44GS models exclusive to the U.S. market, featuring dials in blue, pink, and green, inspired by the landscape surrounding Mount Iwate during various seasons of the year.

All three variants share a brushed and polished stainless steel case with identical dimensions, measuring 36.5mm in diameter and 11.6mm in thickness. The case retains its signature slim profile with curved sides and flat surfaces, topped by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Additionally, it features solid casebacks with the brand's lion emblem and 100 meters of water resistance.

All three dials feature baton indices, dauphine hands, and a time only display. The first variant, with its pink dial, pays homage to 'hanami,' the cherished Japanese tradition of cherry blossom viewing. Drawing from the ephemeral splendor of sakura in full bloom, this timepiece captures the essence of their fleeting beauty. Iwate's northern position in Japan provides a special opportunity to appreciate the cherry trees' vibrant pink blossoms against the contrast of the green grasses as this model features a bright green second hand. 

The second variant draws its inspiration from 'tsuyu,' the early summer rainy season that transforms Japan with its verdant allure. The watch's green hue reflects the rich, rain-nourished landscape encircling Mt. Iwate, encapsulating the region's vibrant fertility. Unlike any other variant of the trio, this timepiece features the brand’s applied “GS” logo in gold beneath 12 o’clock. 

Finally, an exclusive offering for members of the U.S. GS9 Club, features a captivating blue dial. This shade evokes the awe-inspiring 'juhyo,' or snow monsters - trees shrouded in wind-sculpted ice, transforming the landscape into an ethereal winter tableau. These natural sculptures, visible from Mt. Iwate on the adjacent Mt. Hachimantai, epitomizes the unique winter beauty of Iwate Prefecture.

The new trio is powered by the brand’s in-house manual winding Caliber 9S64. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), this movement boasts a 72-hour power reserve and maintains strict adherence to timekeeping standards with a daily variance of -3 to +5 seconds. The trio comes with a stainless steel bracelet that is secured with a folding clasp, and they all share the same price at USD 5,900 which is equivalent to AED 21,700.
