Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Australian Magazine with a Special Release
Furlan Marri is a Swiss watch brand that emerged in 2021, founded by Andrea Furlan, a Swiss industrial designer, and Hamad Al Marri, a watch collector and artist from Saudi Arabia. In 2022, Furlan Marri introduced a new milestone in its journey with the launch of the Furlan Marri Ref. “2116-A Black Sector”, a fully mechanical timepiece, marking the next chapter for this emerging brand. Today, the brand unveils a special edition of the “Black Sector” with a brown dial adorned with Roman numerals, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Time+Tide, the Australian watch magazine.
The watch retains its vintage design from previous editions, featuring a stainless steel case with dimensions of 37.5mm in diameter and 10.5mm in thickness, accompanied by distinctive cow-horn-shaped lugs. The bezel is finished independently and attached to the case, showcasing a blend of brushed and polished surfaces. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
Paying homage to the expansive ochre brown landscapes of the Australian outback, this latest edition features an exclusive dark brown dial adorned with a finely grained texture. The warm golden accents throughout the dial create a captivating contrast, evoking the essence of the outback's vastness. A distinctive touch lies in the applied Roman numerals, replacing the Breguet numerals found in previous versions, enhancing the dial's sophistication. Complementing the design are three gracefully curved hands plated in rose gold that adds an elegant touch to this timepiece.
Visible through the transparent case back, the G100 by La Joux-Perret powers this timepiece. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), providing 68-hours of power reserve, with a tungsten rotor. The timepiece offers two leather straps the first is a brown leather strap featuring a curved design and equipped with quick-release spring bars for easy changes. The second is a black leather strap with a straight configuration, also equipped with quick-release spring bars for easy adjustment, and both straps are complemented by a pin buckle.
The Furlan Marri Outback Elegy, limited quantities of 150 pieces, and will initially be released online on Time+Tide's website starting January 25th, available globally and not restricted to Australia. Subsequently, it will be exclusively offered at T+T boutiques in Melbourne and London (scheduled to open in 2024). Priced at CHF 1,500, equivalent to AED 6,350.
