A Sporty Timepiece Combining an Elegant Dial and Functional Design
The new Sportivo Big Date from Mühle-Glashütte’s Sportivo collection distinguishes itself with a minimalist dial, a bold big date display, and high-contrast hands and indices that ensure exceptional legibility.
Blending the dynamic spirit of Mühle’s sports watches with a deliberately restrained color palette, the Sportivo Big Date embodies the essence of a refined everyday sports watch. Its black dial, sharp contrasts, and prominent big date aperture deliver a clean, purposeful aesthetic focused purely on functionality.
The 42.5 mm stainless-steel case alternates between brushed and polished finishes, complemented by a ceramic bezel insert and a screw-down crown. With 300 metres of water resistance and a 2.2 mm double anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the watch achieves a total thickness of just 12.5 mm, ensuring both durability and comfort on the wrist.
The black fumé dial is designed for optimal legibility, featuring crisp white print, nickel-framed indices, and bold hands filled with Super-LumiNova. The big date window sits harmoniously at 6 o’clock, balanced by the applied numeral “12” at the top of the dial.
At its heart beats the calibre MU9424-GD, Mühle’s modular automatic movement introduced in 2024. Built on a Swiss base with Mühle’s in-house big date module, it allows for a flexible dial layout and a neatly integrated date display at six o’clock. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 41-hour power reserve.
It also incorporates the brand’s patented woodpecker-neck regulator, enhancing shock resistance and stability. Each movement is precisely adjusted to run between 0 and +8 seconds per day, and features both a quick-set date and hacking seconds for precise time setting.
