The German brand introduces a second time zone to its sporty, elegant timepiece
Mühle Glashütte unveils the new 29er Big GMT, a watch that embodies the brand’s motto: “Luxury follows function.” With the addition of a second time-zone display, this sporty, elegant, and distinctive timepiece is designed as the ideal companion for anyone for whom a single time zone is simply not enough, whether at the desk or on a globetrotting adventure.
29er the name says it all. The watch family takes its name from the sailing dinghy of the same name, used by young sailors competing in the youth championship class of the German Sailing Association. The dinghy is renowned for being particularly fast, sporty, and dynamic, making it the perfect namesake for the 29er collection. The only difference is that, in this case, speed has been traded for precision.
The stainless-steel case of the 29er impresses with its meticulous craftsmanship. A finely brushed bezel, polished case edges, and vertically cut sides create striking contrasts, resulting in a fascinating interplay of light and shadow that feels both sporty and elegant while remaining timeless.
Like the rest of the 29er Big models, the new watch features an assertive 42.4-millimeter case diameter. The case incorporates a variety of surface finishes that generate a dynamic play of reflections.
This impressive display is framed by a 10.3-millimeter-thick stainless-steel case and protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. With its relatively slim profile, the 29er Big GMT is among the flattest models in the current 29er watch family. This reduced height is achieved thanks to a newly designed middle case section and the use of the flatter Mühle-modified Sellita SW 330-2 automatic movement.
The main dial is finished in a rich black tone, contrasted by a white minute track and applied indices. Like the date display, the indices sit within a slightly recessed section, creating a well-structured layout that enhances legibility.
The second time zone, rendered in gray, appears on the outer ring of the dial and is stylishly highlighted by a light-blue marker at the 24-hour position. The tip of the GMT hand, also finished in blue, points toward the GMT scale on the rehaut.
Powering the watch is the automatic Sellita SW 330-2 caliber. All new Mühle watches introduced in 2026 are equipped with an exclusive special-edition rotor, and the 4.10-millimeter-thick movement of the 29er Big GMT is no exception. This rotor is reserved exclusively for models manufactured in 2026 and commemorates “Three Decades of Wrist Watches,” celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of wristwatch production at Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte.
The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and provides a power reserve of 56 hours. It is equipped with the brand’s shock-resistant Woodpecker Neck fine regulation system and is meticulously adjusted in six positions. During this process, watchmakers in Glashütte regulate the movement to achieve accuracy values between 0 and +8 seconds per day.

The Mühle Glashütte 29er Big GMT is offered on either a canvas or leather strap, both fitted with quick-release spring bars and secured by a stainless-steel pin buckle.
The watch is priced at EUR 2,300, which corresponds to approximately AED 9,840.
