Introducing Mühle Glashütte Unveils New Sportivo Collection

Three Variants Featuring Three Complications and Distinct Color Options

Mühle Glashütte is a prestigious German watchmaking brand established in 1869 in the renowned watchmaking town of Glashütte, Saxony. Initially founded by Robert Mühle as a manufacturer of precision measuring instruments, the company gradually shifted to watchmaking, becoming known for its innovative mechanical movements.

Over time, Mühle expanded its scope to include speed measurement devices and engine rotation indicators. Mühle Glashütte's entry into the watchmaking industry began in 1996 when a shipyard requested the company to produce waterproof watches for use on ships. In response to this request, Mühle created its first watches. This marked the beginning of Mühle Glashütte's foray into watchmaking, where it seamlessly integrated its maritime precision values into the design of its timepieces.

This year, Mühle-Glashütte celebrates over 150 years of heritage, with the sixth generation of the family, led by Thilo Mühle and his children Fanny and Dustin, continuing to design and craft high-precision watches and marine instruments while upholding the family traditions that began in 1869.

Now,The brand is launching three new watches, from the "Sportivo" collection – the "Sportivo Compass Date," the "Sportivo Travel GMT," and the "Sportivo Active Chronograph".

SPORTIVO COMPASS DATE:

The SPORTIVO COMPASS DATE comes in a polished stainless steel case with a 42.5mm diameter and a thickness of 11.4mm. The case is complemented by a bidirectional rotating compass bezel, which is crafted from blue ceramic and provides durability with its scratch-resistant surface. The contrasting light green accents, including the indices on the bezel, the central second hand, and the minute track, create an eye-catching contrast against the deep blue ceramic. With 300m water resistance and a screw-down crown protected by guards on both sides, this timepiece is built for adventure. The case back features a viewing window for the movement, while the double anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the dial ensures clarity. The compass function is intuitive, allowing the user to determine cardinal directions by aligning the hour hand with the sun.

The dial of the watch features a blue color with an embossed texture, creating a visually captivating surface that resembles the planet's surface. The dial's color gradient transitions from blue to dark blue, in a beautiful way. Applied indices, along with the numerals and hands, are coated with Super-LumiNova for improved visibility in low light. The green second hand adds a bold touch, contrasting beautifully against the deep blue tones of the dial. A date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, while a green ring surrounds the dial, featuring a white minute track printed on it for precise timekeeping. The Dauphine hands elegantly orbit above this textured dial, adding sophistication to its design.

The watch is powered by the Mühle version of the automatic SW 200-1 movement. This reliable movement includes a hacking-second mechanism, allowing for precise time setting. The movement offers 41 hours of power reserve, and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz).

It comes with a Steel three-link bracelet, and folding clasp, at price EUR 2,550 approximately equivalent to AED 10,200, or Canvas-rubber strap with pin buckle, at price EUR 2,300 approximately equivalent to AED 9,200.
