A New Edition with Two Different Dials to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Brand's Revival
After being revived in 1994 by Hans-Jürgen Mühle, who expertly carried forward the esteemed legacy of Mühle Glashütte, the brand proudly introduced the renowned IV Big Date Edition. Three decades after its debut, Mühle Glashütte announced the re-release of this iconic watch this year, marking an important milestone in the brand’s journey. Originally released to celebrate the brand’s revival, the new “Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994”, showcases Mühle Glashütte’s dedication to combining classic aesthetics with modern mechanics. The brand released it with two different dial options.
The timepiece comes in a polished stainless steel case with a 41mm diameter and a thickness of 12.6mm. The case design showcases a finely crafted vertical finish on the midsection, meticulously applied by hand, while the volute-shaped lugs add a distinctive touch. Both the upper surfaces of the lugs and the bezel are finely polished, enhancing the watch’s sleek aesthetic. It is equipped with a domed, anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal on both the dial and case back, ensuring water resistance of up to 100 meters.
The dial of the watch is available in two options, an anthracite-blue sunburst dial with a horizontal structure or an ice-blue dial featuring a fine sunray finish. Both variants showcase a prominent big date window at 6 o’clock, adding a functional yet stylish touch. A minute track runs along the edges of the dial, with numbers every 5 minutes for precise timekeeping. The applied hour indices provide a clean and refined look, while the polished, nickel-plated hands offer excellent contrast and readability, enhancing the overall elegance and legibility of the watch.
The watch is powered by the caliber MU9424-GD automatic movement, developed in-house by Mühle. This movement offers a 41-hour power reserve. It also features a stop-seconds mechanism, allowing for precise time setting. Notably, the MU9424-GD is the first Mühle movement to incorporate an in-house-developed big date module.
It comes with a suede leather strap priced at EUR 3,150, approximately equivalent to AED 12,600, or a crocodile leather strap priced at EUR 3,200, approximately equivalent to AED 12,800. Alternatively, it is available with a stainless steel bracelet featuring a butterfly clasp, priced at EUR 3,350, approximately equivalent to AED 13,400. Each dial is a limited edition of 155 pieces, with the number symbolizing the age of the brand, which was founded in 1869.
