Introducing Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Astral Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Moritz Grossmann's Singapore retailer Sincere Fine Watches, the German company is introducing a limited edition from the HAMATIC Astral Sincere watch. This timepiece features a captivating gold stone dial, a technology used by the company for the first time. To showcase the artistry of watchmaking with an aesthetic that highlights exemplary craftsmanship.

In this creation, the brand seamlessly blends elegant design with pioneering mechanical precision, to craft a masterpiece that not only highlights the technical prowess of the German manufacturer, but also embodies the strong partnership between the brand and its dealers.

The name "Hamatic" derives from its unconventional automatic winding system, a rarity in contemporary times. It employs a distinctive hammer winding mechanism, wherein a pendulum-like weight swings through an arc to wind the mainspring. Originally developed for pocket watches by Louis Perrelet, this system is now a hallmark of the Hamatic timepiece.

Encased in a 41mm 18K rose gold case with elegantly curved lugs. The slim bezel and caseback enhance the viewing experience from both sides, while the crown showcases Moritz Grossmann’s meticulous craftsmanship. The knurling on the slightly conical crown provides a secure grip, and the recessed section at its base allows for easy adjustment. The goldstone dial perfectly complements the vintage design.

This special timepiece marks the debut of a goldstone dial for Moritz Grossmann’s watches. The goldstone dial, with its luminous dots against a midnight blue backdrop, evokes a galaxy filled with stars. Discovered in 17th-century Venice, goldstone is made by heating glass with copper, creating tiny crystalline clusters that resemble glitter. Its versatility makes it ideal for watch dials.

Enhanced by gold-tone appliqués and a vintage “M. Grossmann” logo, the watch features rose gold poiré-shaped hands. Its cohesive design pays homage to the illustrious history of the German manufacture. The small seconds at 6 o'clock share the same texture as the dial.

Through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, we can admire the rhythmic dance of the Caliber 106.0, a testament to Moritz Grossmann’s commitment to both innovation and tradition, inspired by the first automatic clocks.

The bidirectional automatic hammer mechanism of the HAMATIC movement ensures exceptionally efficient winding, delivering consistent power for highly precise and reliable performance. With a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound, one key advantage of the hammer-style pendulum system is the strategic placement of the hammer’s center of mass relative to its rotational axis. The Caliber 106.0 is intentionally designed to generate significant torque, enabling it to exert potent force on the spring. Even with minimal movement—just a five-degree shift or a two-millimeter oscillation—the kinetic energy is efficiently stored in the mainspring.

In addition to its self-winding capability, the watch features a manual winding function facilitated by a yoke winder mounted on a separate bridge. This design ensures that the manual winder always remains disengaged from the ratchet wheel when the HAMATIC system is activated by motion. On the other hand, when in manual winding mode, the reduction gear is isolated from the ratchet wheel by the backstop ratchet.

The timepiece comes with a dark blue strap made from alligator leather and has Sincere’s 70th anniversary logo engraved on the open caseback. Limited to just 10 exclusive pieces, the Moritz Grossmann HAMATIC Astral Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is available exclusively at Sincere Fine Watches and the SHH Boutique, priced at USD 76,000 which is equivalent to 279,000 AED.
