Introducing MING Introduces The 37.07 Monolith

MING is a Malaysian watch brand that was founded by Ming Thein, a photographer, designer, and business strategist. It was established by six watch enthusiasts from around the world under Ming Thein's leadership. Despite being a relatively new brand, MING has garnered recognition and awards. It was a finalist in the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2018 and has gained a reputation for creating value-driven timepieces.

MING offers a diverse range of watch collections designed to cater to various styles and preferences. For instance, the MING 17 Series features watches like the 17.06 Copper, which notably won the 2019 Horological Revelation prize. Additionally, collections like the MING 22 Series offer timepieces such as the 22.01 GMT, equipped with extra features like GMT complications, making them ideal for travelers. As well as the MING 37 Series that  includes a variety of timepieces, with different models like the 37.01, 37.03, and 37.05.

This year, the brand has introduced another addition to the MING 37 series, a limited edition of 250 pieces, the "MING 37.07 MONOLITH." This latest addition to the line combines functionality and style. While it shares design elements and dimensions with its predecessor, the 37.07 Mosaic, which was presented during MING's 5th-anniversary celebrations.

Unlike the Mosaic's bright and reflective appearance, the 37.07 Monolith features a stainless steel case treated with a matte black DLC coating, concave and polished case. The lug tops, bezel, and crown have been finely bead blasted and given a matte finish, while the case sides and back remain brushed. This design alteration results in a thinner-looking case, even though the dimensions remain identical at 38 mm in diameter and 10.9 mm in thickness . 

The dial of the watch maintains the central gradient mosaic pattern but adds new elements. It features a dark gray Super-LumiNova base layer at the center of a black brass dial. Above this, a printed and partially transparent mosaic sits on a sapphire dial. Legibility is ensured with hands pad-printed with Super-LumiNova X1 and luminous indices on the sapphire dial.

Seen through the sapphire caseback, the manual-winding Sellita for MING SW210.M1, featuring anthracite skeletonized bridges with contrasting rhodium circular brushing, offers a 40-hour power reserve at full wind. The watch comes with a black leather strap by Jean Rousseau Paris, equipped with a 3rd-generation tuck buckle with micro-adjustment and a quick-release system. The price of the watch is CHF 3,500, which is equivalent to AED 14,500.
